He used to have a mobile contract in his name but he cancelled it on mutual agreement that the service he received sucked majorly but that was like two years ago now and since then, hes stayed away from credit even though he's got all the ID and is on the electoral roll. Maybe thats the problem? Too long without using credit and now he can't get any maybe?

how long does it take for A&L to let you know about premier current account??
yes i have been on the apply button again!!:D i felt left out as you were all being lucky and getting accepted!! :T

they sent email, a standard one i think saying they will email with decision within 24hrs, or ring if they need more info. but wondered if thats what really happens?

Hello, I applied for the AMEX Green thing, didnt get a decision at all other than we will write to you in 5 days, checked my files today and no searches been done?

That's prob it. Get him to check his Equifax and Experian online (for free lol) - to have a look to see what's on there. It may be worth applying for a Cap 1, Vanquis or Aqua to start building his up. We've all learnt the hard way about how to use credit, but at least we'll all use it wisely. He only need spend £20 or so a month and clear it in full each time.
