Well I took the plunge and made an appointment and applied for a Ulster Bank Current account.........computer said yes:eek: I do not believe it though, will wait and see if my debit card comes.

I told girl about IVA , that Halifax and A&L had turned me down and I was prepared to be declined again , it never even referred it and she said as long as I could show 3 months bank statements with no charges I could have cheque book, overdraft and debit card. Told her did not want OD and asked was it definetly a debit card and not a Solo but she said she will order the debit card, it is her decission. We will see lol

Not arrnaging to change any salaries or DD until I get card......watch this space.

Well recieved the " welcome to ulster bank" letter today here is your account number :T Card type has been left blank but a handwritten note with it saying crds have been ordered. She did say she would open account first then order the cards seperatly. So watch this space.....................

Hi K, sorry about the Amex :( . At least they didn't keep you hanging around waiting.

Fab news on the Lloyds card. I daren't try them - I really think they hate me. I've had a joint account with them for years, but they have never let me upgraded, won't give overdraft - so I won't give them the satisfaction of refusing me again lol.

0% BT is great...........I hope that doesn't mean you're leaving us sub primers????

    Hi guys,

Hope you can help. I had a Monument card which I took out in 2003. I maintained it and they upped my limit yearly until it reached £5k. Then I think it was about a year or so ago I received a letter stating that Barclaycard had taken over/bought out Monument and that my account would be transferred over to them. Barclaycard then sent me a Platinum Barclaycard, same credit limit, it was as if nothing had changed except the card design. I recently checked my credit file and it states that my Monument account is closed and a new file created for the Barclaycard card (same date as Monument account was closed).

My question is this, if Barclaycard bought out/took over Monument, how come after reading the past few pages of this thread some people have applied for/still have cards with Monument?

And secondly, does this mean I could re-apply for a new Monument card since my old card account was transferred/cancelled?

Hello, yes you can re-apply to Monument if you so wish as they are owned by a private bank called Raphaels Bank in London, Barclaycard sold the Monument side of the business not long after they took it on. For your reference Monument search Call Credit during the application,go for it and good luck.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
