I applied for the nat west card today they told me the credit limit but on the final page they told me they couldn't make a decison and would be in contact within 7-10 days i also applied for the virgin money and got the same response. is that a good or bad sign ?

I have read posts where people have got an immediate decline from the virgin money so is the fact they are considering it good ?

    thanks

    Hey All

    Sorry I haven’t posted for a while.

Been accepted for the Alliance & Leicester Premier Direct Current Account, has any one had there card yet is it the two in one or the three in one type.Website say’s it comes with a cheque book so hopefully the three in one with the cheque gtee.

Had my first MBNA bill the other day minimum payment is quite high compared to my other three cards not that it matters because I never carry a balance any way.

Did any one with a Monument card have problems with there last statement never got mine just an apology letter saying there printing machine ate all the statements. Made a payment over the phone but could have quite easily missed that one .I see there taking applications again.

Good to see all the progress some good results with the A&L accounts. Darcy even got a Capitalone card!! Lol, and Sammy with her Amex card show off.

    Hi KPnut :D

Quite a few have got that message from Flybe, but it's a bit of a waiting game. It is not automatically a no, it just means that they want to review your application first.

Have you tried for an MBNA card? A lot of us on here have been successful.

RE the bank account, again a lot of us have recently been accepted for the Alliance & Direct Premier Current Account which is a full account complete with a Visa Debit and chequebook.

Best person for you to speak to is Darcy, as he has a settled CCJ and is still successful in applying - just be careful that you don't apply too much as this will harm your credit score.

Good luck and keep us posted :)

    Hi Sammy,

    Thanks for your response!

I have tried the Alliance and Leicester account and they declined me, so now I am stumped!!

I am hanging my head in shame as I confess that I have applied for 2 more cards. Technically it wasn't my fault as I was racing inside after taking in the washing (it's scotland so it was raining). Anyway I slipped on the wet floor scaring the cat who ran over the keyboard which triggered not one but two credit card applications - darn cat :rotfl:

Okay the first one was mint - I know I am an eejit and yes they did laugh at me...........lots :rotfl:

I then went for an Amex platinum who are going to write to me - presumably they like to share the laughter in a letter. Oh silly me, no more apply button for me ever. I think I need some sort of parental control on the computer!! :rotfl:

    Hi all,

After years of being laughed at by banks, I replied to a junk mail I got from monument and filled out the application and it said I was approved and the card will be sent shortly. Not to sound daft or anything but are they actually going to send me a card or are they going to laugh at the application and then ring to tell me they changed their minds?

I know the APR sucks badly but after years of trashing my credit rating, I'm trying to rebuild it and it's almost too good to be true that a bank will actually be taking a chance on me.

    Thanks in advance!

Sounds very much like you did get it :j

And remember an APR only sucks if you don't repay in full each month. Set up a direct debit to clear the full amount and the APR is irrelevant :D

    Congrats
