    Hello All,

I have just applied for the Flybe card..but got the 7-10 days response..Is this a good thing??

I have held a capital one card since january 08 but the limit is only £100 and has not yet had an increase! After about 2 years of applying I got a phone call on Monday to say I have been accepted for a Vanquis card with a limit of £250 however the APR is high. so I am thinking if I can get another card with a lower interest rate i can transfer my balances and cut the interest rates down - this is why I have applied for the Flybe card!

My other problem is I have 2 credit cards, A CCJ that was settled in 2005 and about 3 defaults which are all settled again in 2005 and I can't seem to be able to upgrade my bank account so I am stuck with a basic account. I wouldn't mind too much but I work full-time, have all my tax credits etc paid in and child benefit and they wont upgrade it...any ideas??
 Debts: Capitalone £0, Vanquis £220, LX Direct £1197, Mutual £1107, JD Williams £23

We are pleased to tell you that your application for an Alliance &
Leicester Premier Direct Current Account has been successful. We are now
setting up your new account. We will send you written confirmation in the
post within the next couple of days.

Based on the information you gave us, we are not able to offer you an
overdraft. If you applied for a Moneyback Credit Card with your Premier
Direct Current Account application, this has been cancelled. However, if
you use our Premier Switching Service, we may be able to consider matching
an overdraft you have with your existing bank. We will send you a Welcome
Guide shortly. Please read this for more details about matching an
overdraft. The Welcome Guide also contains all the information you need to
be able to manage your account.

    Hi Cas-Dor,

It looks like you have been refused for the overdraft. But your application for the current account has been accepted so you will receive the debit card and chequebook shortly.

I don't know what their criteria is for a CC and overdraft. It could be because you already have an MBNA card as they are the same company.

I have received an overdraft on my account, but I haven'y had any word on the cc application yet.

Congrats on getting the account. Another nice set of green zeros to add to your report :)

    Hi KPnut :D

Quite a few have got that message from Flybe, but it's a bit of a waiting game. It is not automatically a no, it just means that they want to review your application first.

Have you tried for an MBNA card? A lot of us on here have been successful.

RE the bank account, again a lot of us have recently been accepted for the Alliance & Direct Premier Current Account which is a full account complete with a Visa Debit and chequebook.

Best person for you to speak to is Darcy, as he has a settled CCJ and is still successful in applying - just be careful that you don't apply too much as this will harm your credit score.

Good luck and keep us posted :)

    Evening peep's, how is everyone?
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
