  • Has anyone got a Flybe Credit Card with unsatisfied defaults? I have about 2/3 from 4/5 years ago?

Flybe have said they will contact me in 7 to 10 days. My application has been referred.

I already have Vanquis and Aqua cards, T-Mobile contract and Coop Cashminder all with lots of green ticks on my credit file.

Got an A&L Premier account yesterday thanks to this forum:jNo overdraft with it but did not want one.

Just wondering if Flybe take people with old unsatisfied defaults?

Hi, my brother just got his vanquis card, how long do you have to wait before the credit limit is increased, can you have an other card holder?

credit increase should go up on the 3rd or 4th statement, cant remember exactly now, did he get a good limit on it to start?

  • Hi All,

I'm just after a bit of advice..and im not sure if this is the right group.

I recently applied for a Vanquis card and was turned down...so I thought i'd have a look at my credit file to see if there was anything really wrong and there isn't anything bad there.

The only thing i can see wrong is that i have NO credit agreements at all, so my file is showing Red-Danger, and my credit score is really really low, but i'm in a catch 22 situation.

I need to get into a credit agreement to got some history built up, but i can;t get a credit agreement because i've got no history!

Is it worth writing back to Vanquis with payslips etc. and seeing what the outcome is or try and get an agreement set up somehow.

Any advice would be greatly Appreciated:confused:

hiya pogo, what about your bank, do you have a long standing one and could you get one with them? youve also made sure youre on the electoral roll as well have you? x
  • Hiya Emmy,

Ive tried them ( LLoyds TSB ), ive been with them 3 months..never been O/D or anythign but they said my internal score is still low..and after 6 months of account activity they would be happy to review my account facilities.

Yeah im on the Electoral role too, im just at a loss...do you think its worth just hanging on for another 3 months and seeing what the bank has to come up with and take it from there?
  • Hiya Pogo,

Try your own bank first as you have nore chance there. The key here is to be patient and build up your record. Ensure you are on the electoral register. Get a small card from your bank and possibly take out a small loan and pay it back quickly if you can afford to do so. This will add a few clean and proper accounts to your credit record. Over time slowly apply for better products and you will see your approvals increase. Never apply for loads of accounts at the same time as multiple searches will alarm lenders. and of course keep it all with affordable limits.

Would they entertain me even with a really low score?

You might want to try the CashPlus Creditbuilder Pre Paid Card. It isn't a brilliant product but if you just pay the 4.95 per month they report the complete loan to CRA's. That would take a year though and there is a fee of £9.95
