I'm doing the credit card shuffle. Paying off my Ulster Bank (19.9%) so I can use it to pay my catalogue bills. Paid off enough yesterday to transfer my Next Directory (29.9%) bill. I'll pay this down over the next few months and then I can clear my JD Williams account. Should be debt free in about 9 months. Huzzah!0

The figures in your sig are looking good, there is a great sense of achievement when you finally pay all your debts :j
Speaking of which, OH still has a couple of smallish debts which I could clear with credit cards. Does anybody know the easiest way to do this
i.e
Can I pay his capital one card over the phone with my MBNA card and then we would just pay the MBNA card when the statement comes through? Saves me trying to find something to put on my card :rotfl:
Hope you guys can help and cheers in advance0 -

You can't pay a credit card with a credit card I'm afraid. The only way to get round it is to do a SBT from your MBNA card into your bank account and pay it that way or do a straight BT between the two.0 -

Hi Dolally,
You can do a balance transfer. Just phone up MBNA and give them your Cap 1 cc details and they will do the rest. But check your paperwork for the balance transfer fee. I think it is 3%. So if you had £1000 on the Cap 1 to clear, you would pay £30. Did you get a promo rate for BTs. I got 1.9% which obviously isn't as good as 0%, but it's close enough for me0 -
Hi everyone, Newbie here so be gentle! Ended up in a Scottish Trust Deed which finished nearly 3 years ago ,so after reading this thread thoroughly I recently applied for a Capital One card. I was successfull and was given a limit of £1000 straight off.I have arranged to pay the full amount by direct debit each month.I 've now received my statement. Can anyone advise if any other purchases made between now and actual payment date will be added to this,or will it go on to next statement.I have tried to contact Cap 1 by phone (ages in the q) and emailed, but I didn't understand the answer.Much obliged and keep up the good work ! Hi Jazzy :hello:
Welcome to the board. Once you have received your statement that is what is owed for that month. So if your statement balance says £100, you pay £100 if you want to clear it in full. Any purchase you make after the statement date will be on the next months and so forth. I hope that makes sense
Darcy, Darcy, Darcy......do you want me to find that post where you said you weren't going to apply for another 9 months lol. Heard it all before lol.
I'm starting to sound like I'm giving you a lecture lol. It's totally your business what you apply for
How are you? How was work? Are you working this weekend??0 -
