Nothing much just credit card speak, changes to how they can take your card off you and cancelyour account without good reason etc, they do seem to be locking down the hatches though, they dont seem to want any business at the moment, guess I will have to wait and see.

That's some good news at least that your APR won't be changing.

The thing is with Monument is that they're a tiny fish in a pretty big pond and Barclays did nothing to grow the business really after they bought it from Providian.

It's such bad timing for Compu Credit to be trying to grow a credit card business right now, without leaving them open to some really big risks.

Yes I agree, speaking to a lass at Monument today and she educated me on how they are actually setup, Compu credit play a part in the credit card in that they process card transactions on behalf of Raphael’s Bank, it is Raphael’s who loan the money or something like that, I will stay with them for as long as they let me and we shall see what happens when we come out of this "recession" that we are in at the moment.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
  • Darcy, I doubt it very much, unless you have very good reason. When was it issued? When was it settled? Who is it with? BG??

Yes, it's rather ironic that one of the oldest investment banks in the country has their name as the issuing bank on the back of a sub-prime credit card :D

As long as they (Compu credit) can hold their nerve, I think that they will be ok. However I do think that they (well, all lenders really) should educate their customers much more about how credit works, what it actually entails and the consequences of not paying it back.

I've seen so many credit card accounts totally rinsed of their limits and when I've seen what the customer has been buying, it's very often been utter rubbish.
  • Good morning. Hope you are all well.

I used to post in this thread a while ago, I've had no internet for a few months so haven't posted.

My Aqua card limit was increased the other day from £500 to £1000. I've only been paying the minimum monthly payment, and I made a late payment because they neglected to send me a statement.

Today will be my 4th statement from Capitalone, and my question for you guys and girls is, do they always increase credit limits on the forth statement?
