Evening All,
I genuinely think that it is a lottery on who gets what card. And I still believe that they have a quota on the numbe of applications that they will accept every month. But I'm probably just spouting pants!!!!!!
It's cold in London tonight. I'm seriously considering putting the central heating on - but I might stick it out a bit longer. Got to think of those energy prices lol0 -
I've heard that Monument have put their interest rates up.
Has this affected anyone ?0 -

Has this affected anyone ?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
Central heating lol. all i have is a coal bucket with candles in hehe....
you must be dead posh.0 -
Really? Not that I am aware of.
I know someone who had it put up by about 5% I think. They even reduced his credit limit too.
I think they're still "tidying up" post-Barclays and doing all they can to limit their exposure to risk, so unused accouts get closed and credit limits brought down etc. The remaining customers get their APRs increased.0 -

The Monument's website (still not accepting new applicants) shows an APR of 29.9%. Was it lower before or did it always show this rate?0

That was a typical rate and some can be as high as 35%. They have always been on the high side.
I don't think they will take on any new customers for a while as their American owners, Compu Credit, are probably feeling anxious about the current goings on in the UK economy.
Their customer service operation in Crawley is quite small and they now have an overflow callcentre in India. They certainly don't seem to be expanding in a rush and they've only taken on a small handful of new customers since buying the book of accounts from Barclays. I think they're playing a very careful game.
Their recent APR change wouldn't have affected all customers, just some.0 -
My limit has not changed and cannot see it doing so, my APR has not gone up that I am aware of however I did receive a pack detailing changes to the T&C's of the account, can't recall APR hike though, hope not cos I like my Monument card as it has the lowest APR out of all three of my subprime cards @ 26.6%.
What were the changes if it wasn't APR or your limit ?0
