Just seen your post here. You don't need to switch accounts, just open a new bank account completely separate from Halifax and get your salary paid into that account so that they cannot claim the funds to pay your Credit Card debt off.

Unfortunately this happens quite a lot to people struggling with debts, and the best advice is always to keep your money in an account with a different bank to which you owe the debt for exactly this reason. Good Luck.

It has been a huge struggle getting back on the credit ladder and reducing my debts. I can't wait to pay them off once and for all, and finally be debt free :A

Candice, that's great news about the bingo win :beer: !!!!! Personally, I would pay it straight off the debt because I know that I would end up spending it lol. But if you have more self control than I do, then put it into a high interest savings so it earns a bit, and then pay the card off when the 0% ends.

Has anyone had a credit limit increase on their Cap 1 card? My 4th statement is due in September and I was wondering what the chances of me getting one are? I don't need the limit as I already have a £1k limit, but it's always nice to feel wanted
