hey guys a good friend of mine has a problem and came over for a brew today and tell me about it i dont know what he should do any adive for him when i tell you whats happening?

he is married with two kids and is not religious nor does he believe in god (just his views) and his wifes mother is very religious loves god blah blah blah so he has a good relationship with his inlaws but the mum is down to visit and he is finding open bibles hidden everywhere and a lot of notes saying praise the lord thank you jesus i love you god etc and its making him very annoyed as his kids are asking what they are and i think its a bit creepy on a whole he has asked his wife a few times to tell her mother to stop and she says she will and he is finding more than ever under the kids beds under sofas under rugs bottom of wardrobes

what can he do without offending as he says he respects her rules in her house but its not the same in his house he needs some advice before he kicks off as he put it as he has put up with it far to long!!!

sorry for posting in here dont know what to tell him as i find it a little creepy too!!!!

    anyone.....................

Get some red paint and put it on the palms of your hands. She will see them, assume they're stigmata and be convinced that you're Jesus. You can then tell her to stop leaving bibles around the place and she'll listen to you.

That or buy a Koran, and make a point of pretending to read it.

    Or a dirty magazine.

    Basically, just annoy her.

If your friend is anti religion, then get him to leave an Alistair Crowley book lying open around the house and he could also borrow a goat (only joking):rotfl:
"In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance.

Well, being an Atheist I would also be very angry at this, for those who choose to follow a belief system and worship a "god" then should be done behind closed doors and not used to try and "brain-wash" others with, my ex partner had our son christened against my wishes and this made me even more resentful toward her and religion in general, I also chose not to attend the christening, less than a year after this I ditched the cow and started my life again, best move I ever made.

cannot believe I am even asking this but............

whats the chances of someone getting a credit card after IVA? IVA paid off 4 months ago but completion not finished yet as some creditors have not claimed their money..........do not seem to want it.

I do not want a CC to get into debt again but for the protection it offers on certain things, It would be paid in full each month. I have preapaid cards with healthy balances and savings almost £3k. This whole things with travel companies going bust worry me though as we go away often and usually just book onine so obviously have no come back if anything was to go wrong.

Is there any hope? Credit reference file is showing as defaults on about 6 things, no CCJ and 100% payment on a few accounts and old mortgage plus no mortgage. BTW Halifax will not even give me a debit card lol only have electron even though have over £3k+ per month going into joint account

Hi there doelani, try Vanquis, Capital One, Aqua, MBNA or Barclaycard these guys specialise in the sub prime market and Vanquis should be your first port of call as despite what certain folk on here..The digital bandwagon may say, they are a good credit card company to deal with, they do charge high APR on their classic Visa but what the others will not tell you is that they also provide the following:

Payment breaks if you have been good with your card after the first 6 months.

Unemployment support i.e. they will help you get back into work with services like CV writing etc

Will freeze you account for up to 2 years if you go on the sick, fall pregnant or lose your job.

The call centre is in Great Britain with clear-English speaking "normal" people, and before the "MSE nay-Sayers" start flashing the racism card around I am referring the staff at Vanquis are down to earth and posses a degree of common sense.

After you have been with them for a year or so you can ask to be upgraded to their Gold Visa for when your credit rating is better.

All round good people to do business with.

    Hope this info helps.

    Regards

well Capital one, MBNA and Barclaycard are all cards I had when I entered IVA so no hope there lol Have looked at Vanquis and Aqua so may give them a go, pc will probally laugh at me if I fill in application lol I do not even mind if I could get a card and pay a "deposit" if you know what I mean, not even to rebuild credit record, just want a proper card with somesort of protection. Have found this on the website of APS who run the cashplus card:

    Consumer purchase protection
APS is the only UK prepaid issuer that voluntarily provides its cardholders with the same level of customer purchase protection that credit card issuers are legally obliged to afford (Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act).

Does this mean I do not need a REAL credit card?

Not signing a credit agreement with them means that they can without notice pull out on you and leaving you high and dry, what I mean is if you signed an agreement with Vanquis for example you would definitely be covered under section 75 of the CCA. I personally would go for the Vanquis card first and see what happens.
