Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

I'm a little dissapointed as it seems a few people have been offered the £100 deposit card with 19.9% APR, I'm sure mine was offered with 29.9%, not that im going to be running up any interest...

Perhaps I heard her wrong? I'm still waiting for the paperwork to sign...

you know, now you mention that, its got to be the same for me too, cos i was sure she told me 29.9% too, however i was thinking this was more than likely cos i have 2 other cards, but i shall be posting back what my paperwork says on this too, i think she said that will take about 5 days to get
edit to add, that the 29.9 is still cheaper than vanquis, so im really not worried at the moment

Hiya I've lurked on this thread for the past week and am pleased it exists, so thanks for that.

Based on the recommendation I applied for the capital one classic card, I've just received an acceptance letter to sign and send back my question is could they still withdraw this offer or can I now be sure of receiving the card?

As you may be able to tell I am surprised at being accepted, I haven't been told a credit limit yet but anything will do me as I am just after a card I can use to pay for goods online and hopefully use it to build my credit rating.

Well I posted the acceptance letter off on Friday, fingers crossed that I receive the card. How long does it normally take?

Have had some good news, my credit limit from Next has been increased to £950, had the account since Sept 07 and had a credit limit of £250 til now. Not that I will use the extra credit but it must be a good sign it is getting increased.

    Hi there, my first post!

I have a default on my credit report that is due to fall off next month, after 6 years I will glad to see the back of it. I have recently got a SimplyBe account with a small credit limit purely to pay back anything I should use immediately and watch the green !!0}'s rack up. I also have a £2k overdraft with my graduate Abbey account with cheque card etc, I never go over my overdraft and their reporting on my credit file reflects this.

My credit score in the past has been pretty dreadful (at 453 currently) I assume this was due to being a student and moving around a lot as well as the default. I really didn't understand the meaning of it all, now I want to buy a house it has suddenly become all rather serious. Anyway, my question is, will my credit score increase considerably when this default falls off? I have just applied for a Capital One classic card and Aqua card purely to help boost my score. Is it likely I will be accepted even though I have a default? I have just applied to be on the electoral role at my current address also. Whats all this about MBNA? Should I give them ago?

Anyone with any words of wisdom would be excellent.

    Cheers

    hi cch,

i may not be able to help with much only to say i was accepted by both aqua and cap one i had two defaults registered both satisfied and illegally there i may add ( both now removed after contacting creditors) but still they showed up at time of application, however i had applied more than a dozen times in the past year and was declined so its not guaranteed.

i would imagine that not being on the electoral role would however cause a problem, are you still on electoral role at your parents home? you could apply with that address, then change the address with them if your accepted once your on electoral role at your present address, but not entirely sure if thats legal!! im sure someone with more knowledge on that will be in to help soon.

    hope all goes well
