Just to say - I got my JJB mastercard today . Naff limit £250! They never showed as checking my Equifax file - even though its clean! Maybe have too many 'little accounts'. What do I have to do to get a decent limit?0

reason I went for JJB was they supposed to check Equifax only (no excess searches) MBNA seach Experian where I have around 28 for the last ten months.
still time will tell - 12 months ago I had a terrible file with both!0 -

Already have a Barclaycard and want to get rid of as my limit goes up and down along with the interest rate . They tell me its because of my Experian file - and the only issue there is the excess searches....
Think I will lay of applying till after the summer - and then try someone like MBNA as they seem more accomadating.
Decided also if Capital one don't increase beyond £500 by July I will close and then re-apply in October for the better card as I reckon on there classic you are stuck with them using the information when you originally applied.0 -

Yeah, I applied for the JJB and the Donate as you spend Card (both by Sygma) and they only checked Equifax ... Coincedence about the search not showing, I have the same thing with a HSBC card I've been accepted for ..:happylove Tori Bellatrix :happylove

I found this article on APACS web site, may be of interest to some of you.

Interesting to see how things have changed and that we are more reliant on debit cards . I remeber in the late 80's with Abbey and getting a 'multi function' card - I thought it was cool , just out of school etc and my first Barclaycard in 1991 with a £200 limit. Also working in a shop with the old imprinter machines and having to phone for authorisation for sales over £25! God I sound old.................0
