So LovelyLodger and ClumsyLodger are the two nominations... can I also propose SuperLodger or is it too soon?
I can't find one single fault with her. She's everyone's dream housemate. If there's a problem with her living here, it's that I'm going to p1ss her off!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

Never mind, I expect she must have some foibles and if they're amusing ones and I sincerely hope they are they shall come to light ere long.
Perhaps she is keeping some deep, dark secret. Start snooping!0 -
Didn't you say something similar about Quackers?Badger_Lady wrote: »So LovelyLodger and ClumsyLodger are the two nominations... can I also propose SuperLodger or is it too soon?

I know you've had lots of lodgers, but be aware that this can be a serious problem and make you feel uncomfortable/inadequate in your own home. This can lead to resentment on both sides and no good reason for amicably changing the living environment until you might be driven to terminate her contract - also making you feel bad. Noise level, tidyness, sleeping hours can all be things that don't bother you, but you feel bad if the conflict with a housemate bothers them.
I'm fairly clean and tidy (I keep my mess to my room and generally don't use communal areas other than to pass through), but I lived with a borderline OCD housemate (ADHD with OCD tendencies). It wasn't worth the hassle of living with his issues.
He knew they were his and he'd tidy up anything he saw as mess so he was happy, but it just made the rest of us feel bad.
example: he'd always gather together laundry as soon as it was dry and fold it in laundry baskets outside your bedroom door as he couldn't stand dry laundry sitting on racks so we'd check twice a day so he wasn't bothered by it.
Another housemate had thyroid issues and used to sleep 19 hours a day so we'd all tip toe around so as not to disturb her as she didn't make a fuss but we felt guilty she felt bad when we woke her.
Lovely housemates both of them, but if you're very different then can cause problems anyway.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

B_L, when this goes to be made a film, can I write it for you? Maybe Jenifer Aniston as the kooky but kind landlady to a constantly changing menagerie of lodgers with only Tufters to keep her grounded. Full of love, and happiness, and mad fights and jelly - only stopping when B_L falls in love with a lodger who gains her heart by leaving her notes - supposedly from Tufters and rescuing him from a near-fatal house fire set by a mad lodger who left and then moved into the loft?** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

Elfen, I love it!
I do have dreams about Tufter being a man (is that weird?). There was one where the apocalypse was happening and the sky was full of fire and we all knew that we were going to die, but Tufter wouldn't give up and he took my hand and ran with me to a cubby hole under a building where we could hide. But then Marylin Monroe showed up and turned his head, so he pulled me back out of the cubby hole and put her in it.

I can turn Tufters into a man - possibly a slightly mad eccentric nicknamed for the tufts of hair that poke out of his otherwise unusually handsome head. And you can have him instead of the mad lodger who sets the house alight. Hmm, this would make a good book too......mind if i nab it?** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

You most definitely do. I know the sorts of things that can cause those kinds of dreams and most of them are illegal. Seek help before it's too late0
