Try Citybond, they offer an annual multi trip policy with a maximum stay of 100 days, its about £144 including baggage or about £114 with only £200 of baggage. It will cover you for any other holidays in the twelve month period.

Travel Insurance for the USA is very expensive as the medical claims are incredibly high there

A standard annual policy with a 90 day trip extension with www.getmy.com/travel will cost you £95.34 without baggage or £102.40 with baggage

Single trip w/o baggage is £80.68, with £90.64

Hi there,

My parents are aboard in India and are currently covered with the AA for travel insurance. However recently they had to amend the return date due to a family wedding. The problem araises is that the trip now lasts 50days but the AA will only insure upto 45 days.

I phoned the AA but they will not extend the dates to 50 days. They also say that the trip start location is now India hence I will find it very hard to insure the remaining days.

Does anyone know of any companies who will insure the remaining 5 days?
If so can you provide details.

Any advice much appreciated urgently since we are in the 40th day.

I'm looking at travel insurance but need to know when it includes cancellation cover does this mean that I would have to get the policy earlier than when I actually leave for my holiday? For example I leave in 2 weeks time for a 2 week holiday - if I get the cover to start at the beginning of that two week break would I be covered if I had to cancel my holiday before the start of that holiday?

Hopefully that makes sense?

You should get insurance as soon as you book the trip, not 2 weeks before leaving, as anything could happen in the meantime to cause you to cancel.

If it is single trip it will cover you for cancellation from when you took it out until the trip starts. However if you know of a reason you will need to cancel before you take it out that won't be covered if it happened before the insurance was taken out.

So, if for example I were leaving in 2 weeks time for a 2 week trip - it's advisable to get single cover starting from now? I would therefore have to get single cover for 4 weeks... Is that correct?
