Thanks Leigh-Anne 60, we go away on 23rd May so hoping it gets sorted before then, we`ve got 5 weeks but I don`t go for the blood test until 29th April!!
Was looking around for annual insurance yesterday but think we will stick with Insure and Go as couldn`t find many companies that didn`t have a large excess and when there was the change to waive it - the premiums were well over £100 for 3 of us to Egypt.0 -
Make sure you declare the condition to Insure and Go0

I will declare to Insure and Go but have not had the blood test yet, so will wait and see what the results are. If it comes back that I hav`nt got an underactive thyroid then I won`t have to mention it will I? or do I?
Thanks0 -
Has anyone heard of getmy.com think they are something to do with FirstAssist Insurance Services. Their quote is a lot less than Insure and Go.
Thanks0 -
Hiya Katie
They are fine..... I have the getMY policy which is quite comprehensive
Cheers

went to costa del sol for 7 days on march 15 2008 got my insurance thru
COVERMYTRAVELS.CO.UK cost for my wife who is 66 with no declared medical conditions was £35 for myself it cost £85 that covered me for a heart aneurism/high blood pressure/diabetis and cholesterol
the call center was excellent very helpful and easy to answer questions i will use them again i also held on to the old policy as it may help save time by quoting all that was covered on it plus the policy number0 -
Most companies will require you to declare Diabetes and may impose additional terms or charge a higher premium dependent on his personal condition eg how long ago it was diagnosed, whether it is diet, insulin or tablet controlled etc.
It is also wise (Some Insurers will insist on this) to have one lot of insulin in the hold luggage and one lot in your hand luggage in case it is lost.
There will be advice on travel for diabetics on the diabetics association website.0 -
hi all,
im looking for worldwide travel insurance for me and my girlfriend... we're travelling abroad at least twice in the next year so an annual policy seems like the best bet and i was looking at the topdog couples policy via moneysupermarket (but there are lots around the £36-£40 pr year mark).....
my main question is if we get the couples policy, are we covered if we travel separately? for example, i am going to brussles for a few days in may but my girlfriend isnt comng with me, would the cover still apply if its just me travelling?
and on top of that, if we are both travelling but going to different places, would we both be covered?
or do these types of policy only work when you are travelling together?
thanks all!0 -
Wallofbeans it depends on the Insurer, a lot of Insurers will not cover your partner to travel seperately from you. You will need to check with the Insurers or read the paperwork to find out.0
