Wallo - £40 (each I take it) Buy separate year policies then you'll not have to worry!

Count your blessings. The wife and I are travelling back to Blighty next month - $440.00 for insurance! ! ! I wish I could get insured in the UK!

See Martin's Travel Insurance section, he has a few that specialise in Pre-Existing Medical Conditions you'll probably be well advised to call them to ask.

FH Brit there are some companies that offer cover for Ex Pats for Travel Insurance which include repatriation to your conuntry of residence eg the U.S in your case. Only problem is they are expensive so would be about the same price as the policy you have!

    I always use flexicover.co.uk.

Always find they offer a good deal and a good product.

I use them for single trip and annual policies.

They are also one of the companies that cover you if you are caught up in terrorism. You are covered under medical and personal accident.

Also if you sign up for their newsletter you get 10% off your policies!

thanks for that. just checked it out and the highest cover is around £75 but i can get something (not quite as good but better than the lower direct travel policies) almost as good if we get it separately with top dog - £25 each!

that might be a better option... Has anyone esle expereinced this? Single policies being cheaper than getting a couple one that can be used if you travel separately occassionally..?

EDIT: actually it looks like the middle price direct travel couple policy is as good as the top dog individual one but thats £60 so still more than buying seperate policies... shame!

Really? We were caught in the airport closure in Bangkok and rang Flexicover Direct and were told that it was classed as terrorism and therefore not covered by our policy.

OH and I currently have an annual insurance policy with Flexicover Direct.

However, in October, we are travelling home to Australia (for good) via Africa. I know that we will need a separate policy for this trip.

    Two questions

Will our flexicoverdirect annual policy cover us for cancellation of this trip up until its expiry even though we will be buying a new policy to cover the trip itself?

Does anyone know of any "one-way" policies? Everything I read says you have to be a UK resident - which we are now - but we are then going back to live in Australia......

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi,
Direct Travel Insurance offer one way trip cover, they will insure you for the journey and up to 17 days after you arrive in your final destination.
As they are a UK company, in the event that repatriation is required, they may insist on repatriation back to UK although they would consider on a case by case basis.
Worlwideinsure.com will cover non UK residents.
