Morning all, didn't do much at weekend, Saturday husband went out with LO and spent £70 on credit card......... I could have slapped him but restrained myself. We then spend day in garden, so [STRIKE]we[/STRIKE] I didn't spend much. Then yesterday me and Lo went too church and we were going to have a drive out to a large park but would have ost £5 for parking........... Anyway brother came round and had bought LO one of those massive pools, spend 3 hours filling with water, I'm dreading the water bill........
Today I have had WM on thought about putting bread maker on. We are at the dentist today and I have decided we will walk rather than drive, hope it doesn't cost too much at dentist........ Then LO at play school so I will go to ASDA.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Just back from dropping a nervous but excited Katie at the special-needs school works placement.. It doesn't seem five minutes ago that I saw her come into this world, and now she is 15, and taller than me.Her Granddad would have been so proud of her, I know I am. I am going to make an apple pie for her this morning as its her favourite and everyone needs a special treat on their first day in the big world of work.
It's lovley to see so many positive thought on the site this morning ,it must definitely be the sun bringing out the best in us all0 -

Morning all,
A hot one here today already:T. House is tidy, washing up to date and ironing all done, so a nice relaxing day today.
Making the most of this week, as I am going back to work on thursday . Have had 4 months off following surgery to repair a tendon in my foot, then having a DVT , so am looking forward to seeing everyone again, not so sure about the kids though (work in a secondary school)!!
Had a lovely day yesterday mooching around a car boot sale then had a barbeque. Just waiting for a delivery then am going to set the garden up so I can do some coursework and enjoy the sunshine.
Have a good day and hugs to those who need them.

DD(14) has gone off to school but needs to go and see orthodontist later to get her brace tightened.
Saw DD(19) off on train last night back to uni. All the hob nobs had gone so I think they liked them.
Have just made dough for a dozen rolls to bake later - will make them soft as DDs mouth will be a bit tender!
If I can find a recipe for lentil daal and onion bhajis I might try to cook these for tonight.
Lovely sunny and warm day here and washing is out on the line so having a cup of tea in peace for a while.
Hugs to smokey, JackieO, PennyP, Catowen and anyone else who could use one."This site is addictive!"

Morning all
congratulations Granny PenPenThe blog must be easy to do if I've done it - it sort of sorts it all out for you - some of the picturs ended up in the wrong places but i'm well chuffed with it.
Well it's SATs week here as well so hold on to your hats all you yr6 parents and teachers - it's going to be a bumpy ride. dd seems ok and is looking forward to Science this morning but has been getting really really down about her literacy. She "only" gets a 4A in the mocks and has been told off by the head for it. this has rocked her confidence - this time last year she was writing stories and poems at home and had a really good website devoted to dr who (what else!) now she says she's rubbish and hasn't done anything for months. I did notice though that she has got herself a folder and is begining to write about this new series so she may be getting her confidence back. Her school for next year is not dependent on her results and they don't stream or whatever it's called until year 8 so there is nothing riding on these results and I have told her not to stress about it.
Chrisca50 - no idea about the dishwasher - the DW in this house answers to the name of Stef - sigh - but if you pop over to the In My Home board someone there might be able to help you - they fixed my central heating once
congratulations to Mr dogrose
Poogie - glad to hear your oh doing better
well must get on - its my non-working day today so I have to do all my housework in one mad dash - hugs to allI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
well chip times have been posted...mr DR ran 1:54 and came 482nd in field of nearly 800 so he should be quite happy with that.x x x0

Good morning everyone,
Have only skimmed the thread, so ((HUGS)) to everyone - and WELL DONE PenPen on the new chicks!!! Looking forward to seeing the pics on your other thread!!
:hello: Taplady
:hello: mrs mix
((HUGS)) to Smokey
Thanks twink - so pleased to have lost my 4lb, didnt lose anything the first week, and was starting to think my diet was a waste of time!!!
Well DS has his SATS this week, hes had his breakfast, and has gone off with no signs of any panic or anything. I do hope he is ok, and not just being brave for me!! His school give them toast and fresh fruit juice before they start the exams, so i think he is looking forward to that!! DD is year 5 and has practice papers all week - i do think they test our children far too much now!!
Im here on my own at the moment, going to work out my money in a moment, so hopefully that wont be too depressing, also have a large pile of 'stuff' (paperwork, cards, magazines etc) that i need to sort out so thats something else i will do this morning. This afternoon i have a LO here, so think we will spend the afternoon in the garden, now i have my fence up, im happier about being out there!
I hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
:hello: Good Morning!
JackieO - :Awhat a lovely uplifting and thought provoking post, I had a lump in my throat reading it. You are so right we have a lot to be grateful for (((hugs)))) so pleased that you are doing so well.
I came on to send special ((((hugs))) to Penny Pincher, I can't remember when you are going in love but want you to know I will be thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way.
My friend who is in the London hospital again is responding to the new medication so that is good news. She still has a mountain to climb but she is a fighter:D
Thank you for all the hugs,:A I am going in to w**k today to attend a course so will see how the land lies! Dh and I have talked about it and he does understand how I feel, it took me 2 years to get well enough to get back there and I felt such a sense of achievement in doing it that I would hate to give up now, but it is only a 6 hours part time job and if it affects my health too much then I will have to leave. I will miss the children but increased cfs symptoms and raised blood pressure is probably not a good sign and I will be sensible, besides the weather is so nice I would rather be in the garden!;)
I used my new food dehydrator for the first time over the weekend and now have 2 jars of lovely cinnamon apple slices which are very yummy and will hopefully help to wean me off sweets and chocolate. Going to have a go at vegetable crisps today, they should be ready for when I get in from w**k.:D
BTW Mr Catz:cool: is doing well and has almost no sign left of the Bells Palsy:jJust a tad around his mouth if he gets overtired but he has been very very lucky! He was able to go back to w**k on reduced hours and is almost back to full time now!
((((Hugs)))) to Smoky, PP, Jayward, Mrs Mix, Kyle, Catowen and anyone else who could use one.
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
