Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 12th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning.
Looks to be a sunny day today.
I decided that after work yesterday it would be nice to drive over to Newquay and see the sun set over Fistral beach. It's only 13 miles and it was such a clear sunny evening. Got the family in the car..... 1 mile from Newquay the whole place was totally fogged in. Cold and misty horrible. What a waste of time that was, should have stayed home and sat in the garden.
Work soon. Just did my rounds of the garden. Seems something has eaten the sprout plants! A mole is alos digging about, so it will be a struggle no doubt this year. I have some reserve plants so I can re plant some of them.
The eggs are going on nicely. I think at least 2 are infertile as they are not showing embryos.
Well best make the packed lunches and get to work.... cheers

Morning N9eav - you beat me to it
Just seen on the news that Summer's here for the next 3 weeks :T
Haven't posted for a while been really busy. Lounge is almost complete - just waiting for my new sofa and chair to be delivered, then need to get a new rug and some cushions.
DD has her assessments at school today, which she's nervous about. I told her to do her very best and that will be good enough.
Going to make packed lunches in a mo, then get ready for work. Dinner tonight will be spaghetti and meatballs.
Huge ((((hugs)))) all round - esp to Smoky and Penny-PincherSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning, hope you all had a good w/end. I have been up ages and deceided to get the ironing done before it hots up here, looked out the back at 4.30 and the mist was lying over the S/Set levels making the trees look like they are floating.
Plan to have an easy day as lots to do later in the week.
(((((((((((( hugs)))))))))))))))) to lots in need0 -
Looks like three of us started the thread today! Mine was the last one so I've come on here to the one that was started first!
Good morning N9EAV and STRESSEDOUT and all who follow.
SMOKY - good to hear from you; you sound strong and positive. (((Hugs))) to you all - looking forward to pics of your garden!
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
PENPIN - thinking about you; I know you are nervous about Saturday.
Well, I was up at about 4am but that was after quite a good night's sleep; I've had a good surf on here and also got a bit of paperwork done. It looks like it's going to be another lovely day so I will try and get the lawns mowed and do a bit more tidying up in the garden. DH is off work today so he can help me. I am also thinking about a bit of de-cluttering whilst he is off - I say 'off' work, but he has quoting and invoicing to do so he's still working really but he can help me a bit! We have an old TV that stopped working before Christmas and I still haven't dumped it so will do that today. It's cluttering up one of the spare bedrooms and I want to clear out all unnecessary stuff - it takes up room in my house and in my head! Now I think about it, there's loads more I could shift. I really must get back into eBay - I haven't sold anything for ages!
Anyway, I'm waffling so I will go and have my shower.
See you all later.

Hi Beth - you make me homesick with your references to the Somerset Levels - you did it a week or so ago, too, when you talked about the Mendips! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Morning all
Katy is sneezing for England, I think she gets hayfever, but she calls it sinusitus & always claims it's caused by rain, but we haven't had any for days.
Hubby & his brother have left for work, BIL is going to let me know when his solicitors appointment is & I'll meet him there, I've written a list of questions for him, I bet the solicitor thinks I'm his mum when we turn up together.
I need to stand my plants outside before I go to work, they are coming along really well & the weather is meant to be glorious again today, what a shame I have to work.
Good luck PP, thanks for posting Smokey, hugs to everyone in need.

morning all, beautiful here again, looks a bit windier though, so good for washing.
I have got a bit of lamb in ther fridge, which I did not cook yesterday, too hot, bit I think it will need cooking today, I think I might do it in the sc, and blast it in the oven later to crisp up, might do mash and veg with it.
Other than that and a bit of washing tidying, i might venture out into to garden again,, lets hope froggie is not back.
My mum had nephew and his carer for lunch yesterday, apparantly it went really well, nephew was sort of showing off to the carer, kept opening the doors etc in the kitchen, my mum said he was sort of saying ' this is my home ', she thought he wanted to show the carer that someone loved him.
Think my mot is due soon so will try and book that today, also the tax is due on the car at the end of the month £170
betheebee ironing already  , you put me to shame, I don't do any ironing
smoky good to hear from you, hugs to you all.
Pen pin hugs xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all,
another beautiful dayI feel like a vampire as I didn't see daylight all weekend being stuck indoors typing (I could have taken laptop outside, but then the sun would have been too bright on the screen). It was worth it though, & if the weather's nice for the next 3 weeks I have plenty of time to enjoy it
SOMO1 - welcome back, lol - sounds exciting. I am waiting for a new sofa too!
Aussie - is Granny still enjoying her holiday?? What adventures has she been up to???
(((((smokey, penpin, candygirl, mrsmix, essex-girl))))) and anyone else who needs. Good luck today Essex-girl, hope it all goes ok.
Mioliere - I've got loads of stuff I need to take to the tip, but my exDH used to do it. So I'm worried about going there & looking daft not knowing what to do with all my stuff... (sounds stupid I know...).
N9eav, it's funny how places can be so different weather-wise. Eastbourne seems to have its own little micro-climate as we can be gloriously sunny when others all around are not....
Morning TNG:happylove Martyn is very quiet - or is he away???
Redruby, I know it's cruel, but I did laugh when I read your post about the giant killer frog coming to get you......
Edit to add, that's such good news about your nephew & that he is so much happier tooI expect you are very relieved. I too have a lamb joint to cook but may do it tomorrow when I'm off, in red wine & red onions.
Special mentions to anyone else I have forgotten - but brain like a sieve so it's not intentional - and I would fill the entire page..... I try & rotate who I mention to be fair, lol!!!!!!!!
Have a good day everyoneTaking one of my foster carers to Panel today, to see if they will approve another child placement, think I will be more nervous than her (1st time I've done it!)

Morning all. I'm supposed to be at physio today for my back, but I will have to ring and cancel as we have been so busy I haven't had chance to do the exercise plan and would n't want to waste their time. My back does ache-more from not doing the exercises, but I shall just have to endeavour to do them this week. We haven't been for a proper walk for a few days either-apart from a car boot and ikea yesterday.- and walking does helpt to ease it once I get past the pain threshold iykwim.
Right better go and drink my tea and get organised!!!

Morning all - we have 2 chicks :T :j one hatched just 5 minutes ago.
I have some ironing to do today, then off to see a friend this afternoon. She's taken down some trees, so I'll be bringing back next year's firewood
Sausage casserole for tea.
DH is playing in the football cup final this evening, so please keep everything crossedThey've had a real fluke getting to the final (a bye, a win over an easy team, and a walk over, as the other team declined to play). DS doesn't have high hopes for hsi team, but they will get a medal, at the very least.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
