Boots Grabbit Bargains Part 25 - Post your finds here

Well, I amused myself today by going out on a serious pre-holiday shopping trip involving things like a car jack and gas cannisters so for a little light relief I made sure I was going past not one but five of the local Boots. Nope, there was nothing terribly exciting but...folk are chucking away these till spits left, right and centre now so keep your eyes peeled.
Amongst todays bargains....
6 packs of 4x AA Lithium batteries at £1.00 each (on 342 as well)
8 of the bigger sized bottles of assorted Garnier Fructis conditioner and shampoo at 70p per 400ml bottle. (We all like this so it's a great buy.)
9 assorted TD items including four packs of wipes, two hand creams, one of the little facial kits and two jars of the Day Moisturiser with SP 15. (Using five wombled tillspits plus some of my own.)
And an Eastern Spa bath goodies set with a floating lilypad, for the astonishing sum of 20p.
There was other boring stuff at full price, but I expect you're wondering how I found the wipes etc? Well, if you have a basket of stuff in one hand then go and find the most senior looking SA or manager on the shop floor it's amazing what they'll produce if you ask nicely! I bet every branch has a little pile of the cheap stuff squirreled away in the stockroom because as one SA told me, Boots are trying to encourage us to try the full range, not just get the freebies.
Well, it does work as a sales technique actually. I do like the TD day moisturiser and will definately buy it again. And I'm positively hooked on JF Frizz-Ease serum!Val.0 -
TBH I have just AGAIN in the last 5 mins tried an epilator & it is painful...give me waxing any day. Honestly I can't believe that I can wax 'all my areas myself' yet this little hair cruncher has me on the edge...... it's a Remington all pretty & pink high gloss to distract me from the pain..... failed miserably.

I dont know why it is so sore when it is similar to waxing! I used to down a couple of vodkas first! I can handle the pain ok nowadays, I think the fact there are less hairs(and they are finer too) must help. The phillips one has an ice pack you keep in the freezer and that also contributes to the success for me!
KMoney is only of any use if you can spend it!:cool:0 -

I really like garnier fructus shampoo but get told off by my hairdresser who says it is bad for your hair! The story is about coating the hair in some way! Dont really understand it.

both waxing( even in a salon) and epilator leave my legs black and blue - not a good look! I bruise very easily everywhere so tend to use hair removal cream on legs and under arms ( the expert sensitive is good)0 -

For anyone who did not watch it (myself included) It is repeated on:-Wednesday on More4 at 9.00pmAnd for insommniacs on -Thursday on Channel 4 at 4.10.amHTH
But in the same programme they've got the Dr with his computer wizardry, to estimate what someone might look like in 5 years time!

My sister is a hairdresser and says all the ones that seem to coat the hair , such as pantene smooth and sleek etc are like putting a plastic glaze on your hair.0 -

Just went into boots and realised I'd lost my card, I think I must have left it in the AC yesterday.
Nice SA told me to ring CS, which I did outside the shop, and they cancelled my card for me. I asked them to check my points to see how many there were - 66!! There were £17 worth the day before.
Apparantely yesterday morning somebody used my card in two transactions, one of 11.99 and one of another, and then they said they couldn't do anything, but she could speak to her supervisor.
The supervisor put them all back on, so thank you CS! Just so angry that some scumbag thinks they can use my points, points im saving to spend on one of the westend breaks for my parents christmas present! No bootsing til the new card comes now though.I know exacly how you feel, the same thing happened to me, they made two transactions an hour apart, however CS also advised me that they added some points to my card too...It was my local store and just felt disgusted that someone would do that.I told a couple of the Sa's and they were astounded that someone would do that ! Fortunately I noticed before more damage was doneThis is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.Robert M. Hutchins0
