Shall we just revert back and be nice to other money savers:D
I haven't been Bootsing as I used to, cos frankly I needed to get a grip, and I'm not at all up to date with this thread, but it seems that even the most friendly thread on here has some sort of natural timescale before something goes askew, then everyone takes a deep breath, some people leave, and things settle down again.0 -
I am toying with slurging some points on an epilator as finding a window of time to wax is becoming problematic ( all those trips to Boots )
.com have a few in the sale with good prices, is anyone able to recommed one or slate one even ( not wanting to waste points now )
Thanks
I've had two epilators in the last three years or so, they both worked fine but after the first few uses just spent their lives in a drawer. Reasons being that first, you can't epilate "everywhere" IYKWIM so they were only really any good for my legs, second, it flippin' HURTS :rotfl: and third, like waxing you have to let the hair regrow quite a bit before you can epilate again, I just resorted to the razor again eventually.
I've gone back to disposable razors and use cheapy hair conditioner instead of shaving foam etc. (no nicks that way) and body lotion afterwards.0 -
OK I don't want to get involved in any arguments bit I would hate for the chat to cease.
I would no way have the guts to try out some of these glitches without having first read the rundown from some of you on here. For those who encounter problems the chat resolves some of the problems & gives us some gumption to have a go!!!!
I agree there isn't much Boosting occuring but that's cos we are having a reprieve re the pants coupons & low stock on TD.
I'd be having a ball if I could find a good supply of TD, BOGOF scrapbooks, pages & photomounts believe me. But hey the sun is shining so we can't have it all I guess!0 -
I am FUMING!
Just went into boots and realised I'd lost my card, I think I must have left it in the AC yesterday.
Nice SA told me to ring CS, which I did outside the shop, and they cancelled my card for me. I asked them to check my points to see how many there were - 66!! There were £17 worth the day before.
Apparantely yesterday morning somebody used my card in two transactions, one of 11.99 and one of another, and then they said they couldn't do anything, but she could speak to her supervisor.
The supervisor put them all back on, so thank you CS! Just so angry that some scumbag thinks they can use my points, points im saving to spend on one of the westend breaks for my parents christmas present! No bootsing til the new card comes now though.Dooyoo £10.40/40, TopCashBack £17.19/30, Valued Opinions 50p/£10, Swagbucks 0/£20, Ebay £15/£250 -

I think the above is a good argument for Boots to make the cards pin protected or similar . Some if us have accumulated large amounts on our cards -- in some cases more than is in the bank ( end of the month syndrome!) and can lose the lot with no refund (usually) from Boots as you cant prove who used the card.
They could also improve the machine so that it was harder to leave your card in it ! The only time i have nearly left mine is when the offers are such rubbish that I have turned to walk away in disgust!0 -

Hi Hogshead
I am adding re your epilator query. I posted a couple of days ago about my history of epilators/epilating so apologies for any duplication!
I bought my first one in the late 80's (for a lot of money)as they had no ladyshavers left in Boots that day(!!!). I tried it once and it was agony. It sat in a drawer for a few years before I decided to try again. I am on my fourth one now and it is the Phillips satinelle one. I use it only on my legs. I would not use anything else now. The pain DOES becomes more bearable through time(I have a very low threshold for pain!) and the hairs do stop growing back. You can epilate on quite short hairs.
Anyway, thats me done my PR bit for epilators!
Wee KMoney is only of any use if you can spend it!:cool:0 -
The machine should make a large bleep if it's left in too long, or it should grip onto the card if its left in for a certain amount of time. I'm just so angry that someone had the cheek to take advantage of the situation and spent the points I worked hard to get!Dooyoo £10.40/40, TopCashBack £17.19/30, Valued Opinions 50p/£10, Swagbucks 0/£20, Ebay £15/£250

TBH I have just AGAIN in the last 5 mins tried an epilator & it is painful...give me waxing any day. Honestly I can't believe that I can wax 'all my areas myself' yet this little hair cruncher has me on the edge...... it's a Remington all pretty & pink high gloss to distract me from the pain..... failed miserably.0
