if it is cid50, as far as i know these still cant be unlocked for free yet.
How to tell what CID your phone is without connecting it to the PC:
Turn the phone on, once you have your wallpaper, with your network name and time date etc.. Press the following keys: > * < < * < * and you will get a service menu come up. Select Service Info and then select Configuation. Press down until you get to the bottom and if you see "C: 49" a line underneath GSM1800 GSM1900 you have a CID-49 phone.
also, if you flash the filesystem you will loose all the data that isnt stored on the memory card (eg. pics, videos, music, texts, numbers etc stored the the phones internal memory).
Thank you for the reply.
Can you please advise me how to get > on my phone. Sorry, I found the way to get > by opening your link. Thanks.0 -
Do I need to connect my phone to my PC to unlock it?
Sorry to be a pain.0 -

I like to think of myself as pretty scam savvy but this got me too! No code and out of pocket too.
Huge Scam! Steer clear. Wish I'd seen this post earlier.
More to the point how do we stop this - the site's been running since 2002!
Very clever, neat clean looking site. The phone number has recently changed on the U.S details and on the website he refers to himself as Jeff Blake on his website - it's Jeff Schrader on the Go Daddy registrant details.
As I also pulled another set of results on the company the details were last updated 25 August 2008:

You're right I think it's thousands of people some of whom will not complain or take it further ..after all it's only £15 quid...etc yet these criminals and many more like them are raking it in so lets stop them. I know we all feel a little embarrassed around scams like this as we are warned over and over againyet for the criminal this is exactly what they prey upon. I have filed a complaint with Paypal which it looks like the only way of paying, another clever trick. Paypal also need to be held responsible ...no phone details no postal address, need I say more?
So who are they and what do we do hopefully someone out there can help.
Look forward to seeing everyones comments and solutions.
Many thanks in advance.

bah, I bought a roaming SIM made by go-sim (which is mentioned on this site - under "cheap roaming calls"). The SIM arrived (from another vendor) OK, but I need to unlock my phone, and gosim.com recommend their "partner" which is, you guessed... uniquephone.com. There goes £12.99....
Actually it's my stupid fault - never buy from a website without a decent "about us" page. Both of these outfits fail that test. A lesson learned.

hard to believe judging from reports of others on this and similar threads, but my unlocking code arrived today from uniquephones and I now have an unlocked nokia 6110N!
of course YMMV .... tony0 -
or you could have had it unlocked for FREE here in the unlock nokia threadEx forum ambassador

I then got in touch with PayPal, and although PayPal's terms state they will not handle disputes over 'intangible goods', they agreed to record my complaint against UniquePhones, and low and behold the refund appeared! I guess they must have contacted UniquePhones, so I would urge anyone with a similar experience to do the same. Maybe UniquePhones will then start behaving reputably...0 -
I also used unlocksearch.com.
After realising that this was a scam I threatened by email to take the matter up with PayPal through whom I had paid.
Result was that I received a refund within an hour.
There may be other sites which do the job, but this isn't one of them.
DO NOT USE THEM!!0
