Hi again everyone
(((hugs))) to everyone in need of one, Smokybabe, Pen-Pin, etc. Welcome newbies, and Birthday/Anniversary celebrations to those missed. Sorry lost track as haven't had net access since last Monday. Anyone fancy doing me a short resume!!
Well as you can see I have brought some sunshine back with me for your all to share. We enjoyed Belgium and Holland and did some window shopping at Cite de Europe and bought up the wine warehouses in Calais! Had the only real rain of the 4 weeks in Calais on Tues/Wed last week. Had a good weekend at Towcester, drank too much red wine, danced so my knees don't like me but really enjoyed it. Fell asleep in the car on the way back yesterday after someone [strike]gave me[/strike] forced me:rolleyes: to have a large glass of red wine before I left, and managed to crick my neck - daft but it really does hurt:sad: . Managed to empty the caravan into the house so that now looks like a bomb has gone off, need to start putting away, but just sat outside and had a coffee as the sunshine keep saying I'm not here often enough get outside and see me.
Take care.DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning :hello:
Sorry to hear of all the sad things you've been going through, pink.1970 ((hugs))
Am having a frustrating day at work - firstly because I spent loads of time with a colleague on Thursday redesigning a page of financial data, I've now fixed all the back-end spreadsheets that go behind it and I need my colleague to fill in the actual data, but he is nowhere to be found and the report needs to go out today, so it looks like I'll have to revert to the old format  ... and secondly because I am sitting here counting stuff up, and correcting cell references in Excel macros, and I have really loud obnoxious people sitting opposite me whose voices make it almost impossible to concentrate  ... and what's with that thing men do, when they stand with their hand in their pocket fidgeting with their keys and loose change while they're talking? Whenever I'm trying to focus on something, some "pocket jingler" or other starts chatting to the person sitting behind me
gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
HM fish pie for lunch, mainly because it was the first thing that came out of the freezer - I meant to do some cooking over the weekend but didn't get around to it  and consequently I still have a freezer full of ingredients but only a small and ever-depleting supply of "ready meals". If I want soup for lunch every day this week, my next cooking day can wait until the weekend, but I'm not sure I do... As well as the haul of yellow-stickered lamb I got at Asda the other week, I have various things that have been in there for months and really need to be defrosted and checked for edibility before being used up if they are OK. If I pick a few veg up next time I'm passing a shop, a sausage casserole is an obvious option... I'm sure there are 3 packs of sausages in there! Not sure whether to do one MASSIVE one, or a few different things...
Am off out this evening with my former housemate.
((((hugs)))) to anybody who needs them and I haven't mentioned.
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

She diddn't  soooo I have made a start on the bedroom, got three bags for the charity shop, two bags of winter coats to go in the loft when Oh gets home, and a bag of rubbish( I swear I am not a horder, it just seems to breed
) I have pulled out the chest of drawers and hoovered behind  , where does all the dust come from ?
Just having some lunch, then back to it, will clean under the bed next

Welcome back Donny-Gal and thanks for bringing this lovely sunshine back with you!
RedRuby - you've put me to shame - especially pulling furniture out to get rid of the dust! I thought dust was a natural organic thing that just has to build up to give an authentic air to the family home!
I agree with you about the key-jangling - it's just a cover-up!
I made myself sit and do some real office work since my last post - almost two hours of it, so I'm going to treat myself to lunch in front of the TV and a bit of a doze before I tackle some more.
The sun is still shining and it's a lovely lovely day! My washing is almost dry; I may get it in and iron it - or I may not!! I have just taken two loaves out of the oven and put the rice pudding in in their place.
Anyway, off to have lunch - I fancy cheese and tomato sandwiches.
See you all later.

I must admit the office drives me insane. Our building wins architecture awards, but wasn't designed with efficent work in mind - it's all open plan. Because of that it's really noisy. I liked the closet where I used to work as noone disturbed me there. So we have 50 people in the room and not even cubicle walls to hide behind.
I cleaned the wardrobe at the weekend too - no mean feat given most of it belongs to OH.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Afternoon everyone - haven't posted for a while - was I missed
Been incredibly busy, working on the lounge - nearly there, just waiting for the sofa and chair to be delivered :T My poor Dad has been back in hospital (again!) hopefully he will be coming home today.
Finishing work in an hour :j Will pick DD up from school, then need to make a loaf, put WM on (again!).
I'm having trouble typing at the mo (my MIL treated me to a full gel set of nails at the weekend) they look gorgeous (but aren't very practical :rotfl: ).
Huge huggles to everyone
Will read the thread through properly now.Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
I have pulled out the chest of drawers and hoovered behind  , where does all the dust come from ?
I have a fridge magnet which reads "Dust testing on progress, please do not disturb the samples"
Since my last post I have been out and weeded the path and taken my hebee out of the pot and planted in the garden. That's after I dug a HUGE chunk of metal out of the garden where I was digging the hole  I have no idea what it was or how it came to be buried in my garden, but I'm telling you, I'll have arms like popeye after all this today. Stopped for a cheese toastie and some :coffee: to replenish my strength then it's out to tackle the back garden. I will be glad to get back tomorrow as it is going to be a rest compared to all this gardening malarky!!! :rotfl:
Anyhoo, I'm mioliering so I'd better get back to it0 -
afternoon all
weather beautiful here
hope all are well
hugs to all those in want/need
ive been a bit lazy today i have done 3 loads of washing and got 2 out but i've been knitting a shawl for my niece over the weekend and started the edging yesterday so i ended up sitting in the garden this morning enjoying the sunshine and finishing that off;) .
Got to brave the attic in a bit very dark and way too hot. i need to clear a load of stuff for the electrician to get up tomorrow, DH fitted a new bathroom light, it does look lovely but something went slightly wrong and its not connected to the pull switch so its on ALL THE TIME!!!! .
Roofer is finally coming as well tomorrow to fix the hole so busy day tomorrow:rotfl: i.e. me tied to the house waiting for various workmen to arrive.
have a good rest of the day allSPC~12 ot 124

Of course you were, SOMO1, just likewas:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I treat myself to gel nails on my own nails before I went away, now need to get back to get them infilled and trimmed, boy have they grown 4-5mm
Won an electric carving knife in the raffle this weekend, can now cut warm bread thinly and straight!!:o
Third load of washing in. Still trying to get straight, made a rapid loaf this a.m. for lunch, and just put a spicy tea loaf on, running out of everything fast, must find a shop soon.
