N9eav,
Reading your post reminded me, I went out to the greenhouse to check my seedlings, and something had eaten 4 of my sunflower plants  I don't know whether it was slugs or mice, but have put the trays onto stands now to try to stop them.
I'll have to plant some more later, and just hope they don't get eaten as well.
Great way to plant your peas, I might try that with my sweet peas (when I get round to planting them)You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Hi RedRuby - yesterday was a strange day weatherwise; it was warm but the sun just didn't manage to break through the cloud cover. I think it was just over Southampton because everywhere else seemed to be good! Today is a different matter, thank goodness, and the good weather is supposed to last the week! Fingers crossed.
I hope your nephew is doing well and is still at the home where he wants to be.

Morning all
Mrs Mix sorry to hear about your Dad, hugs to all of you. Hugs to anyone else who may need one especially Smokey and PENPIN.
Haven't caught up with the thread yesterday, was just so tired. We were short-staffed on Sunday night. Fortunately I was on with a regular agency nurse who at 66 is one of the best people I could hope to work with.
Took DS to a boot fair when I got home. It was a right load of old tat, didn't spend anything but DS spent £2 on some of that really important stuff that boys have just got to have!
We have had such glorious weather here. Lovely again here. Will make red pepper soup for lunch, need to clean, iron, hoover, go to the allotment and study. DS is going to a friends after school so it gives me a bit more time.
Off to hang the washing out, have a good day all.

Morning everyone

Feeling a bit tired today because OH was on call last night so his phone was ringing a lot - i'm sure he's feeling worse than me though bless him.
Got quite a lazy day today. Need to get a couple of bits for baking and some fruit juice for DD's so might have a wander round Asda to look for some summer clothes for them too. Got 3 loads of washing done ready to hang out as it looks like a nice day :T
Have a lovely day everyone

Morning everybody :hello:
A later start for me today, but earlier because I'm off work today if that makes any sense??
Beautiful weather here today again, so I will be gardening today me thinks.
WM is on and BM is on the go as well. DD2 is off school today and I had no child minder so I had to take a day off, not that I mind as it gives me a very short week and plenty of time to potter about.
I'm just packing up my Amazon and Green Met orders to get them sent off when the Post office opens at 9am.
Yesterday was really nice here too, so we decided to take DD2 and dog to the beach. When we got to the coast it was horrible. Really foggy and not like the nice weather we had left 30 miles up the road, so we came back nearer home  Doggles was cream crackered, he spent the evening in his basket not wanting to move too far!! Come to think of it he hasn't moved too far this morning either!!
The place we visited yesterday had an organic market garden so I bought some lovely plants to go in my veg patch. For £7 I got a pot of french sorrel, a 6 pack of spinach plants, a 6 pack of black kale plants and a courgette plant :T All are now residing in my greenhouse until the risk of frost has passed here, about another 2 weeks, then I can get them into my raised bed. I have never grown kale or courgette before so a new experience for me. Come to think of it I haven't tried spinach or sorrel either. Must go and look up my kitchen garden book and see how not to kill them
Just having another :coffee: then I will have to get cracking with some gardening before it gets too warm.
:grouphug: to everyone who is needing one, have a good day all and I will check in later.

Hello everyone,
Its been a very changeable week with the weather hasnt it?
One day hubby came home soaked right through his motorbike leathers ,the next it is boiling hot,sun cream weather.
I've been in the garden a lot this week when it wasn't raining.
Yesterday I also tidied up the shed(its about 20 feet by 10) which is full of [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] OH's bits and pieces. We built it as a motorbike garage and tool shed , out of reclaimed timber but there is no way he could have got his motorbike in at the moment, I couldn't even get the mower out without lifting it over everything.
All the old cardboard boxes got flattened out and spread over the weediest bits of the veg garden to keep the growth down till i have time to tackle them. I dont know what the neighbours down there will think of the view but if they put their wretched fence back up, it would be less of a problem:cool:
DD has her last week of school before the unofficial leaving date.
So Friday we will go and have a hot choc and a bun in Costa's to celebrate:)
She still has some exams to do but only has to go for them and not the school day each time.
Asda was interesting this week. I was overcharged and as usual went to be refunded at customer services. Usually I will point out that I should be compensated and the woman always says 'I was just getting it' but this time I thought, I wont say anything and will see if she does 'just get it', she didn't,she turned to the next customer dismissively.
Hmm. anyway I have emailed Asda and might write too if I dont hear back, just to point out the consistent reluctance to compensate and see where that gets me.
Have a lovely day

Hello everybody,
Well quite a productive day in the Aussiehousehold.
XDIL & DGS came up for arv tea so I made good use of the morning. Made a loaf of bread, lasagne & the pikelets. Gave the bathroom a really good clean. We have tiles up all the walls nearly to the ceiling so they were all wiped down with stardrops. Caught up with ironing & I've just finished watering.
XDIL is moving out in 3 weeks time to a new house. She's been sharing with OS for the last 6 months. It's still on the island and just around the corner from us. I'm really happy that she's decided to remain here.
Candygirl & MrsMix <hugs> Thinking of you both.
Essexgirl I hope the procedure isn't too uncomfortable for OH & I hope you feel better as well.
CM Enjoy your old ladies luncheon.
Although try and refrain from serving up.
Well off to have a surf. I was going to go for a walk but after whizzing DGS in the air playing planes in the yard my back is a bit crook.
Well that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it. <hugs> to those poorly. I hope you are coping well this week Smoky.
ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Good morning
I had such a lovely day yesterday. OH had to get a bus to work and as it was mayday they were few and far between so he left the house at 7am. DS was at my mums for the weekend so i had a very quiet, blissful, peaceful day all to myself
That sounds really selfish but i quite like a bit of quiet time, and it was a glorious day so the back doors were wide open and i just pottered about! I feel quite relaxed acctually, that doesnt happen often!
My wonderful :A dad has bought me a new cooker :j I soooooo wasnt expecting that and i am chuffed to pieces. It's getting delivered next monday and i cant wait :T Thanks dad :kisses:
Plan for today - 'nother cuppa, get dressed, quick tidy up, WM on, STUDY, STUDY and more STUDY then something with tuna and pasta for tea. DS off to other grandmas for tea tonight :j and OH not home till 6.30pm ish so potentially thats over 10 hours to myself to get those jobs done in. So why will it feel like 10 minuites and i'll only get half of what i wanted done?
Ahhhhh who knows
because i'll have 10 cups of tea, 5 cups of coffee, spend ages on mse and generally trawling the net, phone a friend, watch a bit of tv, have a nap on the couch etc, etc, etc . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . gosh i am busy no wonder i'm so tired by the end of the day
Have a good day everyone
