Tuesday 6th May OS Daily

Off to get the sticky

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Hopefully this is the last early start for a while, to make it worse the train timetable was altered which meant an even earlier start.
So far the WM is on & first load is on the line, DW finished & waiting to be unloaded.
We seemed to spend the whole weekend dealing with people who are having marital problems, I'm the worst person to ask, my advice is 'either leave the marriage or shut up moaning', full of sympathy, thats me.
We did loads in the garden so it's looking better. I made jam tarts & flapjack to take to work.
Hugs to Mrs Mix, Smokey, PP & Candygirl.
Hugs to anyone I've missed.
Hester

Morning Hester and everyone else. Gosh I can't believe how high up the page I am today!!! Up bright ands early, loads of work to do. YUK!!
Managed to cut my finger last night when going up to bed... I saw a what I thought was wet patch on the wall about half way up a mock window / alcove so I (really stupidly) stroked my finger along it... Only it was a bit of broken glass-there must have been a shelf there at some point and I didn't know"!!! Still better that I became aware of it before the kids.
Right, better finish my cuppa and get ready for work!!!
((((((hugs)))))) smoky and little ones, pen-pin and any one else who needs or wants one.
Happy birthday to anyone who is celebrating today.

    Morning one and all.

It looks like it might be a good day today. I've been up since 4.30  and I watched the sun come up over the forest. 'Tis a magical thing to watch the sky change from black through to brown, then red and finally blue. There's barely a cloud in the sky and as it's starting to warm up now, I'm away through the forest with the Hounds of Benthos.

Finished at dinnertime until Thursday so it's Te$co's this afternoon then the EAH carpet is coming outside for a scrub to get rid of all the dog hairs.

Take care all and my thoughts are with those who need them.

    Man try :D

Morning all, had a god old sort out in the shed yesterday, recycled loads of card board, freecycled 17 tins of paint (28 Ltrs), some are being collected today. Put all the garden furniture out and 4 boxes of stuff went to the charity shop. DH will be assembling his new trailer today so I want to start sorting the garage, it's a double one and packed with stuff so he will get plenty of trips to recycle centre.
Love to all who are poorly or hurting badly whether it's them or their loved ones.
    Off for another cuppa.

Good Morning Hester, Tattycath and all to follow.

Didnt have a god nights sleep and woke with a headace. Just having tea and hope it makes me feel better, will take some tablets if not.

Am at hospital today with OH, he is having a procedure to take some biopsies from his bladder to see if they can find out what his problem is. Needless to say he isnt looking forward to it.

So I need to make sure I have loads of change for the hospital car park, its about 45 mins from here and is at lunchtime so will have lunch there.

Meant to be going to Nandos with some friends tonight but will see how I feel, its quite far away from me and the parking there is terrible.

Best get on now need to get some paperwork and the wages done this morning.

    Good morning everyone

Have no idea why I'm up this early as I went to bed very late (for me anyway) last night. Still, I have made use of the time and have washed down all the kitchen units, scrubbed the kitchen floor and have a washing on that will be hung out when it's finished.

Have a diabetic check-up today. I'm becoming phobic about appointments to do with nurses, doctors, hospitals, etc. I think I've inherited it from my DDad. He even refused to come into the maternity hospital with me when I was in labour with DS. :rotfl:

Tattycath Ouch!! Hope the cut wasn't too deep.
Hester sounds like you are having my kind of morning. A busy one.
christabell love your short, snappy posts. (I'm jealous because I can never seem to manage one. :o )
essex-girl hope all goes well for your DH.
(((hugs))) to everyone who needs one for whatever reason.

Will need to raid the freezer shortly to see what I'm going to make for dinner tonight.

Have a tremendous Tuesday everyone. xx

Good morning everyone. After an overcast day yesterday - when everyone else seemed to be having sunshine - it's a beautiful start to the day here. I have the first of two loads in the WM and the BM is on. DH has just left for work having left me with a fair bit of paperwork to do.

SMOKY - hope you had a peaceful weekend.

PENPIN - hope you have a better day today.

ESSEX-GIRL - Good luck to your DH with the biopsies.

MRS MIX - (((Hugs))) to your Dad.

    CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

The house feels a bit neglected so I need to get the hoover out and whizz it round the downstairs. Upstairs can wait till tomorrow when I change the sheets. I have to go to the Post Office, the bank, the supermarket for a couple of bits I forgot on Friday, and the gym. I was awake quite early again this morning - I didn't mind because dawn breaking is lovely at this time of day as Martyn has said, and I get loads done when it's quiet. The downside is that I shall be in need of an afternoon snooze!

Dinner is Shepherd's Pie because I can't think of anything else; I shall make DH a rice pudding for afters.

Yesterday, we visited our friends who have just moved a short distance away; they've only been there a couple of months and, although the house needs some work, they have worked wonders on the garden. I was really impressed with the transformation in so short a time. They said they have room for some more plants so, as she has a birthday soon, I shall buy her something from the local nursery for the garden.

Well, I'd better go and dry my hair and get on with the housew**k!

    See you all later.

    Morning

The sun is shining and it is a lovely morning here, unlike the weekend when it did nothing but rain :o It finally stopped at about 2.00 yesterday afternoon, but by then it was too late to get anything done outside as we went to see DS and family.

Spent a few lovely hours with them, and our DGD who is now 10 months old. She isn't showing any signs of crawling and has devised a rolling over technique to get around, it is so funny to watch :rotfl:

Essex-girl, hope OH gets on OK at hospital. Weigh in at SW today, but I think the two, yes two  Indian curries over the weekend have put paid to any weight loss

Have a great day everyone x

    Morning. Seems dry here today.

I managed a whole lot of garden stuff yesterday. I dug the rest of the plot in the morning and planted 120 sweetcorn plants and all my peas. I cheated with the peas and sowed them in old gutters in the green house. When they got to 4 inches high, I slid them right off into the pea row. Magic!!

Mini corn and onions today and then parsnip and turnip seed. That will make an instant veggie plot in 2 days.

Eggs are on day 2. No reports as yet. I will start weighing and checking incubation weightloss tomorrow.#

Well looks to be a great garden day. I have a nice 16oz steak in the fridge for tonight, when I am all done.

    Real work tomorrow

ASDA are doing British rump steak at £6 a kilo if you look for the special packs. That's cheap!!

    Cheers

    morning all,

Looks like its going to be another lovey day here, Kathy, it was really hot here yesterday, we went walking and really suffered in the heat, can't believe the difference in weather between you and us  .

Need to wash the bedding today, and another load, will get them both out to dry, need to make a bananna loaf which DD specifically asked me for :T

Got some diced turkey out of the freezer, think I might marinade them this morning, and make up some kind of kebabs for tea.

Other than that need to have a good tidy through, and might go to see a friend for coffee.

Hugs to Mrs Mix and Candygirl xx

Pen Pin hope you feel a bit better today xx

Annie and essex man good luck with your appointments x

    Have good days all xx
