Got a letter yesterday from WF denying that I had been mis-sold and saying they are correct and no PPI or interest or charges will be refunded. They claim to have telephone calls asking me if I wanted PPI and I said yes and also twice they told me it was optional so what do I do next. I have already sent a letter to the compliance dept and they seem to have sent it the same day I posted it.:mad:
also have referred it back to the FOS as they went past the 8 wks. so any suggestions as to what to do next as I dont think I will get anything back now
Do you recall the phone conversation yourself? You could argue that they didn't provide enough information for you to know what they were offering.
Other than that, all you can do is wait for the FOS to complete.0 -

I have ended up going to a solicitor now as the FO say its still going to be few more months!!!!! Welcome are rubbish they can only provide 3 of 5 of my credit agreements after sending them a SAR. Cant wait for my day in court!
The FOS can't be blamed for the amount of complaints they have which are causing the delays.
With bank charge reclaiming, PPI mis-selling and banks getting their defences up, it's no wonder so many people are going to the FOS than ever before.0 -
I read on another thread on here that WF might offer you a 10-25% discount if you offer to make an early settlement.
Has anyone encoutered this?
Also, my outstanding balance is for £2103.79, which includes the PPI that they haven't made any kind of decision about yet, so if I were to offer them £2103.70 minus £578 for PPI, would they accept this as a final settlement?
Welcome have been offering early settlement figures, so, if you can afford the amount, it may be worth writing to them. Make sure you get it in writing though.0 -

Not getting anwhere with anything I am trying to reclaim at the mo they are all saying the same......you were given the option......so with that in mind doesnt look like I have a leg to stand on basically?
I wont give up without a fight tho but I can only blag it I reckon.
Will keep you posted tho it might be another 8 wks before I hear from them zzzzz by then I will be giving it big zs hehe:rotfl:
:mad::rolleyes::D:eek:
Regarding the charges, I don't know why they didn't offer these back to you. They're probably getting fed up :rotfl:0 -

Sol00 - thanks for your reply a few days back re claimiing back unfair charges - I have only just seen it, as I have not been on the forum since my last posting. I have just received yet another letter from Welcome Finance telling me May's direct debit for car finance was set to go out today - even though I had, in fact, cancelled it via my account manager and arranged to pay cash again later in the month. The letter was sent out after I cancelled the D/D! They really are utterly hopeless!0

I agree it isn't the FOS' fault but do wonder how they allocate cases, they say strictly date order (apart from financial hardship cases obviously) but me and Rosemahairy have both had complaints re Welcome with the FOS since Feb/March last year and still no adjudicator. Yet we have both seen lots of cases on here where they have dealt with Welcome cases a lot quicker. That's the only reason we are frustrated.PAD total since 27/07/09 = £60.83 - [strike]Capital One[/strike]:[strike] £192.73[/strike]£27.00 Next catalogue: [strike]£429.00[/strike] £154.00Welcome car HP: [strike]£6090[/strike], £3900, Welcome Loan:[strike]£3370[/strike], £2660HLC #1: [strike]£907.00[/strike]£637.00, HLC #2:[strike] £838.00[/strike]£608.00Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 - Member #649 - Target £500...banked £119.50 already.0 -

Their administration is the worst I've dealt with as the staff just don't care about their customers.
I would recommend going over branch level and dealing only with the Compliance dept. from now on. Be firm in telling them that they are the only dept. you will deal with from now on.
You will also have been charged £10 for that letter, so you should get that refunded as well.0 -

That's strange, Helnag. I've only been allocated an adjudicator a couple of days ago after waiting 2 or 3 months. Is your case quite complex?0 -
thought i would have to wait about a year maybe not then sent it a bout month ago0
