If these are with welcome, as i said in post above they will contact you for the 2005 loan (if it is after the dates they said in 05. As for the car finance, you may be able to go after the insurer, as they maybe under fos jurisdiction.

Thanks but can I ask what you mean by insurer? Is it the car insurance which is Aviva? xx

Hi, find out who the insurer was for the ppi. You could telephone welcome and ask for this info, or if you have the ppi terms and conditions it will say on there.

  • Hi I am new on here and I am looking for a bit of advise, I had a loan with welcome finance , i was made redundant in may 2009, and struggled to make payments, I managed to get another job and get my payments back up. Then last July I was still outstanding £1500, I rang my local branch and asked if they would accept a £1000 settlement figure, they said yeah. I asked them to confirm in writing which they did. I have a letter stating that I paid 2 instalments of 500 pound one on the 9th july 2010 and the last one on 30th july 2010 and on receipt of payments account would be settled, money was paid and thought that was it. That was until last week, nearly 9 MONTHS LATER I receive a letter saying that in response to MY written requested asking for a settlement figure which they received 05/04/11 I still owed nearly 600 pounds, firstly I never send any written request to them and why would I 9 months later and if that was the case why havent they contacted my before now for the money!!! I am furious. I am worried that this balance is on my credit scoring and any other false defaults for the last 9 months. I rang the Luton branch as it was them that the letter had come from and I told that I had paid and I had it they writing, they said that the Birmingham branch had closed down and they were handling my account and they wasnt aware of any of this!!!! What can I do can anyone help please. :(
  • I popped into my local welcome office (birmingham) 4wks ago, to ask about a loan, and was told welcome are not doing loans anymore, i thought it was strange as ive had a loan and HP off them before, i've since put a claim in for mis sold ppi, i've had a letter off the company i'm using to get my ppi back, stating welcome finance have gone into liquidation and my claim will take a lot longer to get sorted out, so to get anything out of welcome you will be very lucky
  • Hi Vekkiboy, I was told last Monday by Luton branch that the birmingham branch has closed down, Im going to my local Citizens advise tomorrow to see what they say as there are lots of queries and problems ive got with them, god knows where to start.

hi i am looking for some help, below is my situation. i have posted this before on my own thread but wanted someone who has had regular dealings with welcome n loans tell me what they think. ive had some great help from Amersall on ppi already and mentioned statute barred??! can someone expand on that for me?

I was a silly nieve teenager with an abusive bf when i took out the welcome loan...which was for him and bills he had run up. when i finally got rid of him(it involved the police to arrest and remove) and moved out of the house i stopped making payments...(stupid i know) but i had been made redundant too, and moved back to parents and then in 2 a new flat on my own, and now living with my new (2 yrs) partner and our daughter.

All of this with the loan and my ex was in 2007/2008 and i totally forgot about the loan. I havent heard anything from welcome since. obviously coz i have moved and they dont know where. Part of me is wondering weather to contact them and bother making the claim for ppi to use to pay off what is left of the loan as i dread to think what state the loan is in now and i have no way of paying back what they was asking for then, let alone now as i am now a stay at home mum.

The most annoying thing is the loan was for £2000, the last letter i found from them said i owed over £3500 and that was after paying it off for half a year. i continued to pay for a year and had payed around £2000...... i wish i had never been so stupid as to take it out without knowing what all the % and numbers ment.

what do you guys think that i should do who have delt with welcome as i hate having this around my neck. :(

    Thanks in advance.
