Is Welcome Finance going bust?

Hi as far as I know Welcome have not gone bust. You will still have to continue paying if you still owe them money, it's probably best to contact them or if you have access to your credit report check and see what has been marked on there.
If you have payment protection and feel you were mis sold for any of the reasons in the guide then write to Welcome using the template letters and reclaim it.

Was wondering if anyone can help. I recently checked my credit report to find that it states my debt with Welcome Finance has been settled, however this highly annoying and ridiculous company keep contacting me. I'm not really sure where i stand with this.
Cheers!0 -
hi, i was wondering if someone could help me.
my partner got a loan with welcome finance in march 2005 and it was for 3000 pounds over 3 years,
we paid it for over a year and a half then got in to finacial trouble and couldnt pay, but to cut it short,
payments now come off my partners wages everyweek, i was wondering if he can claim back the insurance
put on it as i was wandering if he still has to pay the insurance even though its past the 3 years and the loan
would of experied by now, i dont know if welcome are going bust but if they do can they still take money off
his wages. could someone please help me and let me know if we have any rights to claim anything back. thanx0 -
I was told a few weeks ago when I went for an interview with a mortgage company that Welcome Finance were going into administration for sure. My partner has a loan with them, they phoned him today and he asked them about what I had been told. Apparently the management are saying that it is all just rumours from the press. Interesting as their website has been closed to new applicants for several weeks now and the staff member phoned my partner on a mobile number... me thinks their call centre phone lines have been cut off!0

Hi
I've not been on for a while, but able to now and would love some help with a query I have on my Welcome Finance loan.
This loan is nearly paid off ( I think my final balance is somewhere around £15). However, reading this site, I am aware of the indirect charges that have been added to my account now - and am wondering what I should do.
I haven't asked for a SAR yet - I will do, to find out exactly wha I've been paying. The reason I am doing this is because I received a letter underneath my flat door - we have an outside door, so they would have had to gain entry through this first - a few weeks ago, saying they had visited and that I missed my payment etc etc and that £25 has been added for their costs of delivering the letter! They have also called me a few times too, none of which I answer, but I now know they charge for this too. I fully intend to send my SAR and claim all these charges back.
My question is this: As I have such a small account balance left to pay, do I pay this off to stop any further 'charges' and interest mounting and then claim OR (because the balance is due to the charges they've added to my account) send the SAR and then claim letter and leave the account in limbo.
Does it matter if the account is closed when I reclaim? I would just like to close it and end my relationship with Welcome finally, but am concerned that I wouldn't be able to if the account is closed. Also, from reading on here, the length of time that Welcome take, this could be a while before I get anywhere - and all the while, interest and charges mount.
Please can someone advise me on what's best to do. I'm ready to pay off the final balance now, but these points above in relation to the charges are important to me. I feel cheated that they can add these to the account, and am grateful that forums like this make you aware of such things.
