2 letters from Welcome yesterday; 1st was to do with their charges, they've refunded them, although they were quite abrupt in their letter :); second letter was my PPI reclaim, they've said the letter isn't enough and have asked me to complete a questionnaire - I've simply printed off letter 2 from the PPI section of the website and will send it today.

So you've made a claim for PPI and charges? have you heard back from them regarding either of your letters? Did you send it recorded?

I got a letter from them too, didn't get any reimbursement though, they just put another £1000 on the bill!!. laughable, so I sent the whole lot to FOS and trading standards.
Not going to even reply to them. :o

    Hi SolOO

To tell me charges ect incurred, lots&lot&lots&lots!!
No mentioned of the complaint I made in December of 2008.
No ppi and no mention about the telephone calls they said they made to me from January to April 2009 ........I questioned how & why as changed my phone number in January and it's X directory.
They didn't see that in the letter when they read it:confused:
so copied itand emailed to FOS

When you say they put another £1000 on the bill, what do you mean? Have they added £1000 worth of charges?
  • More on the subject of Welcome Finance and charges - after managing to scrape together last month's car payment on the last day of April due to my redundancy (after non-stop hassle from my account manager, who was ringing, texting and even knocking on my door for about two weeks) I received a letter off them this morning. I had made the payment in cash, as arranged, at my local Welcome office. Apparently, I am being charged £15 for a direct debit that was not honoured - even though I had arranged to pay cash. I am also being charged £10 for a phone call from Welcome - even though they rang me AFTER I had made the alternative payment arrangement with my account manager. They really are a waste of space. I can't even be bothered ringing up to dispute it. Hopefully, they may go bust soon, with a bit of luck.

If they go bust, what happens with people who already have a loan with them?

Buster, you shouldn't let them get away with that.

I can send you a copy of a letter I sent regarding charges if you want?

If they went bust, the administrators or company that takes over would take over the loan book; there wouldn't be any difference to the customers as far as collections go.
