ok then
nah, just messingJust playing Devil's Advocate here a bit.....but isn't that a bit like saying you will only keep your standards high if everyone else does?
lets assume the school has sweatshirts with logo's on would you go out and buy a new one if they only had a couple of months left at the school ?
I like to see kids in uniform that way they are all the same, but towards the end of the year would I go out and spend money unnecasserilly (ouch, thats spelt wrong lol) ...............hhhmm I dont think i would though0 -
but in that case there are plenty of shops (asda, tesco, sainsburys, adams) which do sweatshirts. Schools dont specify that they have to have the logo on.
Personally I think the OP should just go out and spend the money on a shirt for her. If she is not looking the same as the others then she will be singled out by both teachers and other children. Is it really worth all the heartache if for some reason someone decides they will bully her for that reason ... surely for it not to happen it is worth a fiver of anyones money!
fair enough I dont know the financial situation although you have said that you can afford it, so just go and get her one! being 11 and havin boobs is a big thing!!! don't let her be singled out for no uniform when she could be one of the only children who already has boobs!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Well, it's a good idea to make boobs fit into a shirt, rather than letting them hang out
She was responding to the OPs comments about value ranges being for flat chested pupils
I would have thought a bra was a better place to put boobs rather than in a shirtbut then they will always hang out at some point in a lifetime

sorry just wanted to respond to this bit. But for me 1st day of secondary school I want my Daughter in new school uniform. I dunno, maybe its just me but its what ive always known, new school, new uniform...is that just me or do others feel the same
do girls care more about this sort of thing? my boy really couldn't give a monkeys. he would wear his clothes until they fell apart if i didn't throw them away when he wasn't looking.
it was only the white shirts and they still looked new when he wore them in high school. the collars were crisp and the shirts were still very white (they were from M&S if that makes any difference?).
almost everything else was new, not that it would bother him (he kept his old schoolbag to use as a PE bag and also wanted to keep his old pencil case) but i wanted him to have new things. the shirts didn't matter to me because they looked new. although come to think of it if he hadn't been ill on the last day (i took him in for the assembly/concert and then he wanted to come home again) he'd have come home with messages from his classmates all over his shirt in biro so that one wouldn't have been suitable for high school :rotfl:'bad mothers club' member 13

i've never thought about the shirts because i only have boys. when i was young we didn't have 'value' clothes. i remember being the first girl with boobs and how i felt about shirts straining over them. you'd probably also be able to see the bra under cheap value shirts.
i was tall, even at age 8 i could wear my mum's blouses instead of school blouses. some schools might frown on that nowadays though.
i wouldn't send the girl in the school shirt from last week - it might be straining over her boobs and upsetting her. girls can be sensitive at that age and also might be teased.'bad mothers club' member 13

they *like* it to have a school logo on but don't *specify* and *demand* it to have the logo on. I always buy 1 logo jumper and then have a one or 2 plain ones just incase he spills something down it and I don't get it washed/dried/ironed overnight.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
