Its uniform, it obviously is compulsory or none of the kids would wear it, buy 2 shirts from asda cheaply.0

I don't mind complying with rules at all but I do take exception to schools and their ways sometimes - assuming you have the money AND the time to go out TONIGHT to get the uniform. I certainly would not want to buy uniform for the short amount of time left at the school - at a push I would do as lidlest says above, buy a couple cheap from Asda (or similar) if possible but I would tell the school you can't do it overnight! If not, would you consider asking the school if they have any spare - out school quite often has loads of discarded items that they'll lend out - not sure for how long tho.....or also our local charity shop always has uniform for the local schools in......hope you sort it but don't feel bullied by the school!!If Life Deals You a Lemon - Make Lemonade!! :j0

Aren't most primary schools Non compulsory on uniforms yet as long as they have the school jumper and appropriate school trousers/skirts etc??
All the primary schools around here are, some of the kids go in full uniform but the majority of them wear the basics (jumper n trousers) with white polo shirts....
I dont know if it is like that for all areas but perhaps the school will allow your DD to go down the polo shirt route?? they can be picked up really cheaply from asda/primark etc, although i honestly dont know how much different in price they are to proper shirts IYKWIM.Please be nice to all moneysavers!

i bought new white shirts for my son near the end of year 6 but i reasoned that he could wear the same shirts when he got to high school because he won't have grown out of them by then. that was about a year ago and he is still wearing them but i appreciate that not all children grow as slowly as mine.
what kind of shirt is the uniform at primary, and what will the high school uniform be? could she wear the same thing?
what kind of t-shirt did she wear today, was it plain white? my son's old primary would probably have let children wear their PE t-shirt in this circumstance, as long as they had a spare PE t-shirt to change into for PE. any t-shirt with writing or any kind of logo would be a definite no-no though, or anything not white.'bad mothers club' member 13

actually its NOT compulsuary ,at the comp it is but not the junior school its a recommendation, she is still in grey trousers and school fleece lots of the kids wear some parts of it but not all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I can fully understand your reasoning, however does your DD friends all wear the uniform, does she mind not? If she does not and it is not complusory then surely they can't insistNo Matter what you do there will be critics.0

Just buy the shirt. For 51 days a cheapo one from asda at £2 or whatever is pretty good value. You must have known that the shirts were getting too small so it isn't like the teacher has just sprung this on you tonight or anything.0

This is not correct, the school have no right to enforce it. Only when children go to high school is the uniform compulsary.Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0 -
I agree with the comments to buy a couple of new shirts!
They are very cheap from supermarkets, and inthe meantime maybe she could wear the one she wore yesterday....or did she outgrow it overnight!!*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

Primaey uniform is def not compulsory UNLESS you have signed up to it as part of a home school agreement (which you may well have done "in passing" without noticing). Even then they'd be hard pushed to do so.
Do agree though, she has to wear something for the next 50 days, so it may as well be a couple of cheapy tesco value tops or similar.
As with others though I did part replace year 6 uniform with that which was OK for secondary, as it needed replacing after I know where they were going. Fortunately white shirts/blue blouses and grey/black trousers did for both. Good though that summer (mostly:rotfl: ) means no sweatshirts so they didn't matter!0
