Just updated my total, really close to the limit but shouldn't need anything else and my month runs out on Monday. I won't be here Friday to Monday as doing a 4 day walking Pilgrimage from St Martin in the Fields Church in London, to Canterbury to raise money for the Homeless. I have filled the Freezer with meals that I have batch cooked so OH and DD1 & DD2 won't starve. Have stashed away some Hobnobs, Courgette Muffins, Banana Muffins and HM Rolls for them so they will still feel like I'm here in Spirit.:rotfl: Have given them strict instructions not to bust my Budget.;)

Thanks Tashja for mentioning the Morrisons voucher in The Sun, picked up a copy today and the voucher is for w/c 2nd June, shall buy another one tomorrow and Friday so guess where I will be shopping in June:D

Having a boiled Gammon with Salad and New Potatoes tonight, shall keep the stock for soup tomorrow night. Shall sign off now as must get my packing finished, the weather forecast is looking a bit changeable so shall be holding suncream in one hand and rainmac in the other.

Shall log on again before I leave on Friday otherwise there will be too many pages to catch up on when I get back.:rotfl:

  • Hi I am a newbie to the boards but have been lurking for a while :o

Please can you add me for the May- although I will go through to June as my month starts on the 19th?!! Sorry- household set up is strange but finances to be kept under tight rein from now on!

There are three adults in the house (the teenagers eat more than me I might add!) and two cats to feed from my total budget of £200 for the month.

Will keep a tally and see how I go as its finger in the air for this month so i can budget properly next month.

    All tips gratefully received :D:D
    BUDGET: £200
    June Budget= £151.41/£150:cool:
    10 NSDs (with teenagers !!)= 8
Reduced my overdraft a little today- slow but sure!:A

Welcome FelineFantastic - we're all very friendly on here and you will get loads of support and ideas. I have always cooked and baked from scratch but since joining the GC I now batch cook which I didn't before, bulk out spag bol, lasagne and shepherds pie with oats and family haven't noticed, look for whoopsies in the supermarkets and now don't just stick to Asda, I shop in Sainsburys, Tesco, Co-op, Aldi and Lidl depending on who has BOGOF or Fruit & Veg on special like the 59p stuff from Aldi and the 70% off F&V that Lidl do. I now also make my own bread and rolls where as before I only did that for special occasions. Anyway, welcome and Good Luck.:D

Thank you all for your warm welcome I am looking forward to starting to use all these ideas- oats to bulk things out- that I would never have though of!:T

I already primarily shop in Aldi (yes I had the night cream before Gok bigged it up this week!) but have never tried Lidl- we are a bit limited in our area with mostly Tesco's but I try to co-ordinate driving to work with shoping/ getting cheaper petrol etc.

I am quite excited- is that wrong of me :o :j

Hi guys, just been to mr A's and bought some stuff food wise and also some stuff for the garden (inspired by you lot and trying to grow some veggies) wasnt going to add it to my total GC but thinking about it I ought to as it kinda is food shopping and will benefit the food shop. It will certainly be more acurate that way. BUT THE BAD NEWS IS.... that now takes me to £270!!!!! Thats £20 over budget    . I am trying to cheer myself up by realising that I usually spend between £110-£140 per week before this month so £270 doesnt seem so bad. (and its a five week month!) will keep my budget at £250 for next month It certainly is more realistic!

Kinda feel like I've let myself down... oh Well!

FELINE FANTASTIC Welcome, the guys are brill on this site, its my first month too and although I have gone over budget its not as bad as it could have been. Good luck with your month . Dink1

Don't be silly you have done really, really well luv :T :T

I must update my sig as spent £20.00 on top up shop at the weekend, and then looked in my cupboards and realised I didn't need half of what I have bought Grrrrrrrrr.

I can't remember when I started this challenge either, if I started it from payday, I have about £40.00 left and get paid on Friday so very good. But if I started it at end of month, erm, well, I suppose still not bad as I really probably don't need to spend much more this month. Who knows, I wil try to check back on this thread to see when it was.

Keep it up everyone, some fantastic recipes and ideas on here thank you all
