  • Popped in again to update my sig, spent £11.76 in Lidl today mainly on fruit and veg. It was difficult to resist the sweets, but DH and I are on a bit of a health kick just now so I managed:j , nearly chewed my fingers off with the temptation though!
Will also add on the £8 for tommorrows veg box that gets delivered, I can't wait till the stuff I have planted in the garden starts producing, it'll save us a fortune.
Am off to buy a years car tax disc tommorrow, so if you all hear loud wails and sobs it's only me:o

If you have a blender you can make your own icing sugar. Basically all the different white sugars are all the same. If you blend Granulated sugar it becomes caster sugar, carry on, it goes powdery and becomes icing sugar. There is no need to pay for someone else to make it for you! I have done that for years and years and ,,,,, years!!

Thanks Mooloo, I have caster sugar so will blend that. At least this will save me a trip to the shops as hardly any budget left. (Think i underestimated with £175).:o

    Take care all

Well, It's taken me since Tuesday evening to read up on everything I missed.
I've not read on here really since the 2nd of May. I've been so so busy in the house and the garden.

Comiserations to those who need it, Congratulations to those who deserve it, and big hugs to those who want it.

I have absolutely no idea how much has been spent this month because I've done a couple of shops at about £20 but I dread to think how much DH has spent on stuff on a whim.
So I'll have to bow out. I will be recommencing my new grocery budget very soon as I am paid on the 22nd of the month.

In other news, I have been busy planting out in the garden and the lettuces are coming on quite well. I planted out the ones that I got from Mr S as they were going mouldy inside. DS thought it was fantastic to open the front door today and pick some lettuce leaves to go in his sandwich!
So far, the only seeds that have actually done anything since they were planted on Saturday is the brussels sprouts. I'm hoping that something will grow from my planting session though!
I will try to keep up with the thread from now as I'm back to work Wednesday night so may have a little more time to keep up with what's been going on on here!
    TTFN peeps, Kaz.
BTW, Anyone know how Mrs Irwin is?

Thanks scotsaver he is that exicted he is bouncing off the walls:rotfl: :rotfl: he has got an annoying tamigotchi that is beeping in my ear(why was I conned into buying this annoying toy?:rotfl: :rotfl: ) checked the cakes and they are still soft and lovely, the party starts straight from school until 6pm:eek: the sun is out so they do not have to be in all 12 boys age 8:D
They are having hot dogs in buns, all the cakes, biscuits from the Mr S lower shelf,at 24p/29 each you can't go wrong, much cheaper than Mcvities, never bought them before but kids will eat anything and they are a lot cheaper than the top shelf ones, crisps from the lower shelf, I worked out it cost me £4.33 for those bits and whatever the cake cost me and the fairy cakes to make:D got the hang of it now:D all the banners, balloons, decorations ,table cloths etc were bought all year long for pennies, the paper plates and cups were given to me at a BBQ once(hundreds of them too much ordered and they gave them away) so all in all it is a budget happy birthday:D

GP is being OK at the mo but no help from anyone else.
Just concerned what'll happen if OH says he can't go back but doc thinks it's time he should. Been waiting for the counsellor since Jan and no luck there.
OH is going to talk to out friend tomorrow who is good at employment law and stuff and seeing forests for trees, so hopefully that'll help.

Off to watch waking the dead to cheer myself up.
Think i might be the one who needs help!

Hope you get sorted out soon. I'm sure your OH's company will send you the forms in time, but like a lot of places, they probably run on autopilot, so won't do it till the last minute. Just keep on at them, I'm sure they will send you them.

On a lighter note, How does waking the dead cheer you up! :rotfl:

Well I'm just about on target for this month, lots of meals in the freezer (if I take time to think about it). Did a huge slow cooker full of bolognese overnight so pots in the freezer and lasagne for dinner. Put it straight back on with chicken portions in (sp bag of frozen so will see how they go - used to but them for the pooch but thought I'd try the bag that had been hanging arround for ages)

OH has and interview this afternoon for a permanent job so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed - his brother works for the company but they have diferent surnames so he's keeping it quiet so that there os no influence either way. If nothing comes of it at least his current temp job has been extended to end od Sept so some of the pressure is off.

Anyway thanks for listening - off to hang out the washing before w**k.

Popped on while at work to catch up on posts and update my siggy.

Had NSD on Monday but went to Mr T's yesterday to get some Arborio rice as I was out and couldn't really make the risotto to use up leftover chicken without it! So, had my list of things I was running out of - light bulbs, coffee, sugar, ham, etc plus needed rolling pin as my one was broken (couldn't keep using a jar :rotfl: ), measuring spoons & jug, etc. and spent £40:eek:

Really annoyed, but I did get a few extras - 50% extra free on my favorite Kenco coffee:o , 2 energy saving light bulbs (1 costs as much as two of the spotlights I normally buy, but I reasoned these would last 8 times longer) and some Tesco Omega 3 for DS - £7.20:eek: (need to help is brain any way I can and he doesn't eat fish!)

So now over this weeks budget, but shouldn't need to spend any more money until next week so hoping to make it back. wish me luck, think i'm gonna need it!
