Brighton Belle - thanks for the offer of helping with recipies! I'm going to see how I get on just adding some finely grated veg to my usual favourite dishes, but I'll definitely yell if I struggle. Thank you
The fruit allergy is disappointing, I also have a tree nut allergy, but that's the way it is and there's no point letting it get me down, it's not like there aren't loads of other foods I can enjoy. Since it appeared virtually overnight, maybe someday it will go away overnight!
Vix - thanks for enlightening me! WE get 'south today' not 'south east', which is a bit annoying as in totally centres on Portsmouth and Southampton. Sounds like you here more about Brighon news than we do!
Jules -welldone on the kick start policy. You are getting there gradually, even with natural breaks, you don't seem to slide massively backwards. Are the kids living with you yet?
Victory - I second delly's comments re eating food you enjoy!!!
Bargain babe - glad you are feeling better. I'm really chuffed I seemed to have not picked up OH's cold, dispite being on immune suppressants:j . Perhaps it was spraying disinfectant in his face whenever he came near me that did it:rotfl:I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hoping that I have lost some weight this week - despit having eaten (with DD) a whole box of choclate fingers whilst doing a car boot sale (we were selling!). I've done a lot of walking and had staff training on Friday night at the pool where I work and then yesterday had to do a competency test which is two times swims to rescue a casulalty. Managed to do them both................just. Thats given me a bit of motivation as my last times where well under the time limit. Will weigh tomorrow and post then.0

ha! Well i had no option. I was 16, a size 16 and was the most insecure little thing on the planet. No one saw an inch of my flesh, let alone some thin, toned, good looking bloke wanting to see my fat being squeezed by a a bit of metal.
Infact, id probably tell him to do one now!
I always hate how blokes look at you in the gym. Its quite funny cos im not normally shy with men, but theres something about being in a gym with men.
Or maybe they saw my knickers fly off the treadmill and thats why they were all looking to see if i was going to do it again! haha.
Right, off i go to revision notes. If anyone knows anything about coporate social responsibility then dont hesitate to pass your knowlege on in my direction0 -
Two tops and two bras from Primark and I still spent under a tenner!!!!! I was gobsmacked especially as I didn't know they had bras in my size!
missy g -I basically came out of the gym deflated because having been told it's necessary to have the induction and having booked a time all the girl did was say have you been to a gym before to which I said yes and she then whizzed through the controls on the machines and said right I'll let you get on!
Sorry but I don't think I needed to pay £30 to be shown how to press a button or two, As they make suh a big deal of the induction I thought it would involve a basic assessment and suggested workout etc but boy was I wrong, they seem to be more interested in chatting to each other at reception than actually doing what they are paid for.
re the kids we have decided to not rock the boat too much at the moent and are not asking for them to come and live with us yet, we are instead going for extended access later this month.Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0 -
dellybelly wrote: »Yeah - the gym is the worst don't you think. I reckon once they get you signed up you can stuff off. I signed a 14 month contract and haven't been since last July for various reason (the main one being that I hate the gym) but haven't heard a peep from them ....
I'm glad you're more focused and doing the RC kick start. Do you still go to the classes? I've bought this month's RC magazine cos I really miss my class. The franchisee wound it up just after I had DS. Has the diet changed much? I've still got my 5 star diet stuff and was thinking of giving that another go....
Good luck with the kick start and congrats on getting into 18's.... have fun at Primark - I always love their PJ's.
Delly not sure of the differences but this is all based on Low GI foods and now on portion pots rather than weighing, to be honest I think it's well worthwhile buying her book as it has the full kickstart plan in in and a load of other recipes plus lots of information and a few exercises etc. I've just ordered one for a girl at work from play.com for about £5.50 and the portion pots can be substituted by a measuring jug not sure of the sizes at the moment except for the wine one which is 125ml lol but if you're interested pm me and I'll let you know the other 3 sizes. I get the magazine delivered because I got the years subscription as a pressie as my friend thought the fitness kit that comes free would be a useful boost too. I'm currently pulling out the recipes I like andtaking variuos days from the 7 day meal plans to come up with a menu I'll like.
I do still go to the classes because I find it invaluable for keeping me in check and I enjoy the exercise session as I've never felt self conscious there.Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0 -

I lost my weight using the Rosemary Conley GI Diet, using scales rather than portion pots, but I found it so easy and didn't feel hungry. I 'maintain' using alot of the same principles. The good thing is that many of the recipes are tasty and can be eaten by the whole family.
If you do decide to buy the portion pots I'd recommend getting them from the Rosemary Conley website (cheaper than ebay), put offer code 'pots' in and you get them for 1/2 price, so it will cost you £5 including delivery for 1 set or £7.50 for 2 sets. If you get 2 sets you can leave the appropriate pot in the packet of cereal/rice/pasta etc and won't have to go hunting for the right one.
I must admit I think they are a good idea and will be getting some for myself shortly. It's so easy for portion sizes to creep up and before you know it weight starts creeping on too.
Good luck with the weight loss.

Thanks everyone for the ideas on how to say the red lentil soup, I tried I really did but I did a delly and threw it out:rolleyes: It tasted horrible, watery, the more stuff I added to it the more it was yuck:rolleyes: binned, end of:D
Have to say though delly my toilet rolls are always the cheapest 'cause it is just throwing money down the toilet literally:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Julesgr - hope they fit! remember a bra has a life expectency of 6 months if you wear it often, especially a primark one

Well, week 2 in the quest to lose 5lb in 3 weeks... here goes:
Calories: 1156 average per day
Exercise: 5x gym sessions, Yoga, 1 hour bike ride, 71 x 25m swim, 5 x 2 miles walking
Taking the exercise to be between moderate and very active (I really worked hard on those workouts), the expected loss is 1.75lb. Weigh in is tomorrow.
I will be happy with anything 1.5lb or overSlightly worried I've mucked things up by an irregular eating pattern this weekend, so cross fingers.
I've updated my spreadsheets to automatically work out Kilograms (which I need for inputting into my gym computers), BMI and BMRAs well as making sections for quotas on drinking water (thanks FFM), 5-a-day fruit & veg and 3-a-day wholegrains... is there anything else I should be keeping track of?

Please tell me to mind my own business if you want to but may I ask what size you are. It's just that I remember you saying something about fitting into kids clothes and you still seem to be trying to lose weight. Your signature says that you are below your target BMI. I really don't mean to offend it's just I'm a bit worried about you. There will be nothing left! I was sure on the BMR site I looked at women should be on at least 1200 cal a day even if they are trying to lose weight.
Please make sure you look after yourself.I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0
