I have given myself a massive incentive, I have booked a mega posh do which is a Black Tie event for New Years Eve... a bit early i know but its best to get these things booked early. Anyway I want to buy a really lush dress for the evening but I am not going to get one whilst I am a porker... so I have 3 - 4 dress sizes to drop before New Year..... lets see how I get on. For every 7lbs I lose I am going to put £25 in the pot for my outfit.

Hi kittykat (my children call me kitty kat or kitty, so I love this name...lol)
I love your idea of using your weight as a means to save for your fabulous frock. With an incentive like that, I am sure you'll lose those 3 - 4 dress sizes in no time. I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines.
As to the vodka...personally, I'd give it a miss, but I don't drink. Even if I did drink, I think I'd still give it a miss...lol.

Gosh Suggs it's falling off you again! Well done! Is the BMI supposed to be expressed as a percentage? I use the formula weight in kilos / (height in metres) * (height in metres) for BMI. Your other stats are great too, I bet the muscle hasn't reduced % wise considering the 1.4lb loss.
Peke welcome! Fantastic weight loss so far and you must feel great having dealt with the debts! Definitely keep us posted, I want to hear about the gym
Hiya Beanie, thank you for that info. How are you doing this week?
Starlight sounds like you've been having a great time! Special someone, 4 star hotel eh?Good for you!
All's good here, just done approx 45 mins wii fit including 20 mins jogging. I have intentionally been trying to keep the exercise a little lighter this week to see what happens.
Slightly over my cals today, but I'll even that up at the weekend and things are looking on track for perhaps a teeny tiny loss come Monday
Wonder how BB got on with her meal today? And wonder how Bails is getting on too!0 -
....nooo, stay in the gutter. I'll join you there. When kpc has calmed down and the steam isn't coming out of her ears anymore then she'll be along too. We could have a gutter party.
How do you do your couscous serenity? Do you jazz it up with anything? I used to use the Tesco couscous seasoning but have to be a little careful with salt intake... like we all do I guess.
Oh, Ajax, that sounds like a plan! What should I bring?
For my couscous, I don't don't do too much to it, as a rule. I use chicken stock for the liquid and a dob of butter, a teeny bit of lemon zest and a squeeze of lemon, and prepare as directed. Sometimes though, I finely chop some onion and fry it off and then heat the stock, add the onion, some very finely grated carrot, kumara (sweet potato) and zucchini and cook until softened, then add the couscous and continue merrily on. I usually use a little more stock when I do this, to allow for the evaporation when cooking the veggies. If you don't mind fruity savoury dishes, then currants popped in the stock for a few minutes before adding the couscous, is always an interesting addition. It really depends what I am serving it with.
Well I daresay your weekend is off and racing...It is 5:25am saturday morning, here. I hope you have a lovely one...weekend, that is!

Best of luck with your approach Serenity! That is a completely new one on me and I'll look forward to hearing about it, always good to get lots of different perspectives.
Been out for a 20 min walk this evening. Cals for the day 1163, feel plenty full enough, so have a few extra in hand for tomorrow should I need them
Edit: Added another 10 mins wii fit jogging this evening too
Thanks so much, missyg. It is indeed an interesting concept; but I can see how it works. If you don't mind, I have added a site for you to peruse, if you wish. I know there are many who poohoo the idea, but each to their own...you never know until you try.

You are doing so well with your diet and fitness regime! I wish I could get back to walking...this forced inactivity is driving me quietly insane.
Keep up the great effort. Would you mind giving me a run down of your weightloss 'story' so far? I love hearing other peoples stories.

dellybelly, I am so sorry you are feeling down right now. Try not to dwell on it; what's done is done...onward and upward. TTOM is probably the real issue...it is usually an emotional minefield.
I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Serenity, thanks for the link, you're absolutely right about it being each to their own, as we all have our different eating habits, likes, dislikes, in some cases allergies & intolerances etc.
I don't have a very interesting story to tell about my weight loss - basically the weight started to creep up after finishing breastfeeding my son, and on the morning of my birthday in May last year I weighed in at 11 stone - my heaviest non-pregnancy weight ever - and with a waist measurement of 89cm, I knew I had to do something about it and started immediately. At first I wanted to lose just 1 stone, but ended up losing 3 stone because the more the weight came off and the fitter I became with the exercise, the better I felt
I will post up my weight loss chart. The biggest 'peaks' are generally holidays or expected/enjoyed gains! I am trying to maintain between 112 and 119lbs (8-8.5 stone) so I have been doing fine overall with this since the New Year, although it got a little challenging around March time with a large holiday gain and I've been having a bit of a struggle trying to get back down to my lowest since then! I don't expect my maintaining to be a straight line - I just need to know I can keep on losing whatever goes on

Hello all, I posted earlier but it 'disappeared'
Suggs, I know what you mean about what you see being different to reality. I think I am a sensible person and although my weight, bmi and clothes sizes say I am small, the person I see in the mirror is not. I hope that eventually my 'self image' will correct itself. Hope yours does too - 'cos your photos showed you were fab.
Victory, I only joined this thread once I started maintaining, before that I only lurked - everyone on this thread has helped to keep me on the straight and narrow.
Missyg, our journey seems quite similar in places. In May 2006 I hit 11st 3lb, which was the same as my maximum pregnancy weight  . This shocked me into losing the first stone. It wasn't until about August 2007 that I finally decided to sort it out completely and now I am on the maintenance journey.
