Haha, I'd already watched the game by the time I'd posted that, wouldn't risk going on the computer, switching on the phone, or anything like that before I'd watched! Really super hockey from the Red Wings. Hope the Pens actually show up next time!!! :rotfl:

Monaco was fab too, what a great day's sporting viewing *sigh* :D

....it's still going on, but the last round of the Ladies European Tour event was cancelled cos of weather , so no highlights of that for me tonight ! Didn't watch the GP, but they just said on the golf that Hamilton won. Well, I didnt see that coming.

I sense a Stanley Cup sweep - men against boys! :D

.... you were expecting someone young and handsome, obviously :)

KPC gives me the occasional hour off, no girl can be permanently pleasured :D

Kittykat, it's not worth crying about hon (hope you were figuratively speaking), as Dragon says you'll soon notice a difference once you get started! If it seems daunting, I'd definitely recommend breaking it down into mini-targets :)

How are you feeling about the bikini issue now Victory? Any happier?

Vix, I bet there are lots of top-heavy ladies who would say that they'd prefer the opposite ;) Why not just love what you have? :D Hope you get to see the GP in Monaco, I've not done that but I have driven my own car around the streets and all the recognisable bits from the course :rotfl: that was great fun.

Ajax hope you're going to post some wii fit stuff on the other thread, I feel a bit lonely over there :o I've done an hour on the exercise bike (fairly light effort) while watching the GP and I'm going to do some wii fit jogging shortly :) Oh, I do hope the Cup isn't a sweep, it's always such a let down when that happens... I want the full 7 games! I don't get much chance to watch usually as I don't subscribe to NASN.

    Thanks all for the welcome!

I understand you are all trying different 'diet' plans, but does anyone advise any that the whole family can eat? I cook from fresh and we all eat together - so I don't want to have to cook for me and hubby and kids seperately. And, does no carbs really work?

I do run (:rotfl: if you can call it that), and am going to try and religously go three times a week - but it is hard to shift your butt at the end of the day!

P.S As to body shape I am an hourglass (all hips and boobs), and I hate it! We are never happy!

ahh so how are you watching it then? Have they got an NASN free weekend or is it on 5 or something?

I'll post on t'other thread, just that today was my first 'real' go with it since the first day.

Ajax, I thought your meal sounded gorgeous, glad you enjoyed it!
Not so great day here - if I say 'money' you get the picture. Anyhoo, I think I am now an apple (hence wanting to shift some fat) - I basically go straight up and down and have no waist, is that right?

Cookinmummy, cooking from scratch for the whole family sounds a great way to do this; after all, it needs to be something that is sustainable long term. Low GI/GL is a good place to start - if I remember correctly FFM used RC and catered for the whole family, guess any GI/GL cookbook would work too? (I use Patrick Holford's Low GL cookbook). As for the running, what about going in the morning before work, or does that sound even worse? :D I used to find sport first thing in the morning was a fab start to the day (could you incorporate some into your commute/school run etc?)

haha how heavy were your shoes then? Gary Glitter boots or something? :D

I've had an hour on wii fit to make up for at least the first glass of wine :)
nope :rotfl: - not gary glitter style (thankfully) but at least 1lb heavier than the flip flops I used to wear to WW.

Nah, think I'll just face the music head on and wear the same stuff as last week. Just need to go and plan my core dinners for this week and see if I do any better than last week.

cookinmummy - there's also a thread on the old style board which is slimming the old style way. try looking here Most plans can be adjusted to suit family life - it's mostly a matter of portion sizes for the various members of the family.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Afternoon peeps, from a very hot and sunny Brighton.
Thanks LL and vix for your kind appreciation. Not the best of days health wise and it you perked me up no end. Feel like a herd of wildebeest must have stampeded over me at some point last night and it’s taken all day to get going.
And thanks missyg and bails for so lovingly assisting me in age denial:D . I knew that would be a tenner well spent. I think it’s the image the term ‘middle age’ inspires is what makes me wince a little ( as well as laugh at myself)where as in fact this has definitely been my happiest decade to date. I'm sticking to middle age is a state of mind :D .My 80yr old mum has always maintained she’s still about 30 inside and I know exactly what she means.
And thanks ‘headmistress’ granny for a good laugh as always. I'm sure dr's must have a secret code now we have the right to see our notes. I was a little suspicious at the pleasant way I was described in a letter by the rheumatologist I saw in Jan, when the actual consultation had been ghastly.
Delly – I’m struggling to last more than 2 days at a time on plan at the mo too. The 2 days go really well (and I eat plenty), and on the third day I have overwhelming cravings, today satisfied by a pkt of bourbon biscuits. Having eaten them, I know I’ll be fine for the next couple of days, so just going with that flow at the mo, which of course is easier for me at this end of the weight loss campaign than yours I know. But just wanted to let you know I know the feeling of not being able to stick at something for a whole week.
Welcome kittykat and cookinmummy to our lovely forum. Many can testify to being their most successful ever, with weight loss and keeping it off, by regularly sticking with us so join in as much as you can.
Trying to build up to do one useful thing today, so it’s not a complete write off.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm at home full time with a one year old and a three year old - so I really wish!
Though in their very own special way they keep me active!

Is RC - rosemary conley? Is that the diet that Nolan (cannot remember which one) did? I have a feeling my Mum might have her book - will ask about this. Ta!
