    Hello everyone...

Total newbie to this diet forum!

Well I need to lose 84lbs (sounds better than saying it in stone... i don't know why)! anyway I have managed to put on 2 stone each year over the last 3 years OMG

I have dieted on and off for years and can't believe that I have let myself get the way I have. I gave up smoking 3 years ago and changed my job from an active one to a sedentry one which has contributed me getting me to the way I am today!

So have come here for help and support and inspiration and ideas!

So please be gentle with me and I look forward to getting to know you all.

    Love Kittyx

Good to see you Kitty! People are really nice here (they have to be - they cope with me :rotfl:), just to make you feel better I still have 150 pounds to lose!

Good to see you too cookinmummy, the chart is done on a Wednesday but people weigh in on any day they choose! For instance if you had a Weight Watchers class on a Thursday night you would post either after you got back or on Friday morning - so pick a date that suits and best of luck!:T

Right here I am in between watching the hockey "as live" this morning when I got up (didn't feel like staying up from 01:00 - 04:00 but I might do later in the series :p), and the Grand Prix :D I'm not going to be idle though, I shall be on my exercise bike while I watch!

Vix... size 10-14 sounds fine to me, I was often a 14 on top and 10 on the lower half, just have to wear the right style/colours to try to even it out a bit :D What difference would it make in your life if you ignored the "constant pressure" to conform, and did things your way? If it was completely up to you, what changes would you make right now? What things are expected of you that you'd rather not do? I am pretty sure your lovely boyf and friends wouldn't treat you any differently if you talked the way you want to, wore what you want, and did the things that make you happy? I know that's oversimplifying things, but to a degree you ARE in control of how much you let the pressure affect you. (btw I might be passing through the port later this week - but sadly not the cruise terminal!)

Hi Kittykat100 and Cookinmummy! Welcome to the thread! We are always gentle Kittykat unless you ask for a good old motivational kick ;) Most of us have had that "OMG" moment too! Cookinmummy - fantastic on waiting until you'd finished the breastfeeding before worrying about the weight... :D

Morning Ajax - I hope you really enjoyed that meal! No need to feel contrite, you knew you had two things you needed to allow for, it's not like you went off the rails for no reason!

Keep us posted on the tennis Petrichor! Good luck to your man ;) Is this going to be one of your multi-screen tournaments or just one game at a time?! :D

Mollymop, I've been trying to muster the courage to update my 'after' picture :o I am approx 7lb lighter than when I had the previous one done and that was just a snapshot so I'd quite like a "nice" picture. I hope you've done your own before picture so that you'll be able to do the same once you've hit target - which of course you WILL!

Weigh in tomorrow so being really careful about food choices today, can't decide what to have for lunch though! Hmmm....

Thank you so much everyone for the very warm welcome!!

    Its day one today!

I am going to weigh myself to get an accurate starting point. Out goes the sunday lunch today, I am having a small shepherds pie with veg. I need to find out the calorie content as I am going for calorie counting.

I am on this forum virtually everyday and I look forward to reading what everyone else is up to.
By the way ajax that is an amazing difference and just the sort of motivation I need!

Well its done now... time to move on :o

After I have had a good cry I am going to plan my meals for the week. I think planning is the way to go.

..........kitty, just a personal opinion but I'd leave weighing until tomorrow morning. If you weigh after you've just got up, still nekkid:eek: and gone to the loo :eek: then you don't leave yourself open to unnecessary fluctuations like clothes weights or fluid/food intake. You want your weight to be as regulated and 'true' as you can make it.

(Also gives you scope for that glass of wine this afternoon)
