    Afternoon peeps
Is the weigh in day Monday or Wednesday?
I make the salad with usual salad bits but I also add chick peas and a variety of other beans like Kidney, borlotti etc - my question is do I cook them from the tin before I put them in my salad box? I have not been doing this and I have been fine but I am worried I might be poisoning myself!!!! I also have porrige made with water for breakfast. Is anyone else foloowing this type of plan? If so am I doing OK?
    Thanks

Hi Annie , Tinned beans etc are pre cooked so don't need cooking , the only thing I would reccomend it that you rinse them thorughly especially the Kidney beans.

I'm following the Rosemary Conley LowGi diet so have very similar foods -good luck

I look like I could be on schedule to lose weight this week - plenty of scrabble with Dr Dragon seems to be doing the trick :D

The photo shows a doctor's hands and the feet of a baby born after only 22 weeks gestation - a little girl called Amillia, who survived and is now 18 months old. The full story is here. I'm not making any statement on the abortion debate, I just think the picture is amazing.

    Hi Lois

I was going to ask the same question. You used to have a hamster avatar (if I'm remembering correctly) and I thought perhaps they were baby hamsters :o

    Amazing story.

    Hi Annie

I followed RC's Low Gi diet too, worked for me, have lost 49lbs and am now trying to maintain - bit uppy downy, but generally okay.

I loved the diet because I never felt hungry, like you say, the secret is having food ready so that you don't pick or eat something 'cos you 'need that fix'. I also had to keep a close eye on portion size, it's so easy to overestimate how much you can have - sometimes the correct portions are 'disappointing', but once you have eaten you realise that they were 'sufficient'.

    Good luck

I'm glad to see people trying this and it working! I am thinking about sending off for the "home pack" and running it along side Calorie-Count.com

missyg, (from one maintainer to another), take my advice - eat some cheesecake :D . I weighed in this morning and have lost 0.4lbs, I get to report a STS though because of my 'whole lb' approach.

Last time I went to the doctor he used the phrase 'at your age' - cheeky young whipper snapper - I'm not that bloomin' old :rolleyes2

This morning (different doctor - older than the other) used the phrase 'with your slender build' - I could have hugged him - probably not appropriate :o

Im not really following RC but more the GI diet book (Rick Gallop)and using some of the GI recipes by Antony worral thompson. I do have the Gi jeans book by RC on my shelf so I might read that over the next week (half term) and check I am doing ok for portion sizes.
    Thanks

    Hi everyone

Woke up this morning feeling like I'd been run over by a bus. Every part of me aches like mad after the fall - worse than yesterday (but 2 days after is usually the worst for my muscles - strange but true!). Just woken up from a 2 hour nap - I seem really exhausted at the moment, so its nice to have an excuse to rest!

Meal last night was wonderful! I dread to think what the scales will be like, but all should be well again in a week or so. I'm going away for a week to visit family though. Sometimes its hard to stick to the diet when staying at other peoples houses though.

Tempting, FFM, tempting! I will have a slice within the next month, there's a promise ;) This week has been a bit testing - as you know I agreed to 'ease up' a bit and I am averaging 1400 cals/day and toning down the exercise just a touch (by about 5%, lol).

Within the first 48 hours I had gained over 5lb  Scary stuff. It has been reducing ever so slowly since then, but I reckon I'm still on track for a gain come Monday :o I do feel better though, the extra 200 cals per day has made me feel more normal so I'll be able to tackle this with renewed energy starting next week.

Well done on your [strike]loss[/strike] STS :D:D:D And the fab compliment from the doctor!

Dragon, if that's the secret I must find someone who wants to play scrabble with me! Haha! Hope you get that loss x

Lemon Drop, poor you :( Glad you are eating well though to help you mend. Don't worry about the scales, you'll get back on track, but your body needs putting to rights first.
