Thanks Beanie - I'm watching it myself and I was in tears a few minutes ago, when one of the girls was talking about how she was bullied at school because of her disability. I'm laughing now though, as one of the lads was wearing his entire wardrobe and people thought he was fat!

Thanks so much BB, you've actually made me cry! (in a nice way of course) but i am so ashamed that I have been like that for so long and it was only seeing these photos that made me realise if I was no longer here there would not even be any pics for the kids to remember me. Well you're right it is a step forward, I've never been that keen on myself but I am important to the main people in my life and they love me regardless of how I look.
Thanks again for your very kind words xx
Thanks bargainb, and you're spot on again - you're on a roll:D . The shame is probably a natural initial reaction but it'll fade in the shere brilliance of your new found understanding. As a counsellor once sent to me, when I expressed regret at not understaning something sooner in my life- 'no one is born wise, and what you have come to understand some don't until they are 60 or 70 and then there is real regret for the past: how wonderful to have gained that insight now, when only in your 30's.'
Missyg - definitely the best decision to go for the real deal as a well deserved treat.I hadn't heard of quark either before sw, but it is an excellent very low fat , unmessed with diary product with quite a few uses.

lois, i have the same thig- some days i say to myself - this is the shape you are meant to be, why fight it? and then sometihng happens that makes you feel fat or whatever and you're off again. I have less of that with the support of this thread though.

quark is great - haven't used it for baking but i sub it for cream in a lot of recipes. A great carbonara sauce too - 1 egg, 1 egg yolk, couple of spoons of quark, hea of parmesan - tip over pasta and bacon bits and garlic and let the heat of the pasta cook the sauce. yummy. I really like it with gnocchi too.

did think about wearing my wellies but oh says they are naff and are playing the garden shoes only. Felt well enough to have an indian! see you all on tuesday, have a terrific weekend whatever you are doing.

welcome to the thread logos! hope you find the support you need here, i'm a real foodie, and you can still enjoy food - it's just finding the right ways to do it.

Ajax - I checked with dunelm and it shouldn't be store specific for the scales they're part of the 50% sale which was due to start the next day so I must have got there very late. It's the dunelm scales not the Hanson ones.

..........ah ok. I'll have another ride down tomorrow.

Lois -what is your avatar photo of?

The photo shows a doctor's hands and the feet of a baby born after only 22 weeks gestation - a little girl called Amillia, who survived and is now 18 months old. The full story is here. I'm not making any statement on the abortion debate, I just think the picture is amazing.

    Bails - great post.

    Logos - welcome:j

Wendy - Hello mum. Glad you had a good night. I've been out with the biological family tonight for my son's birthday - resisted the wine but was felled by a pepper sauce!

Vix - I used to think the same about getting older and having to worry. I was 40 last October and used to think I wouldn't mind about my weight so much. Uh-uh I still fret and now I think I look old and fat not just fat.

My weight has gone up and down like a roller coaster all my life. I was a very early developer (wore a c cup bra in my last couple of years in primary!) and put weight on as I didn't want to exercise and draw attention to my figure. Wore baggy clothes and eventually they weren't baggy! Then when I went to sixth form I lost three stone during the summer holidays and became an exercise freak. The problem was that I developed bullimia. Got married and then after each of the four kids didn't get back to my old weight (I didn't want to be bullimic again) and so on my 40th was the heaviest I've ever been. Joining this group is the best thing I have done. I feel a huge sense of pride each time I lose a pound and having the weekly weigh in gives me a goal. And as an added bonus my health has been the best it's been for ages! I don't get out of breath climbing the stairs and my blood pressure has gone down. Still got more to shift but I now really think I can do it!
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

    Hello everyone,

I am from Tasmania, Australia, and hoping to lose 123 lbs.
I weighed in at 286lbs and got down to 226 lbs by the end of last year, but with an operation in December, then spraining both my ankles (at seperate times...one of them, currently...) and tearing the ligaments in them, and another few health issues... the walking has come to a screaming holt; and I have whacked on 24lbs in the last 5 months! So that means I am back to 250 lbs, and I would love to get down to 127lbs.

I am hoping all you lovely ladies and gents won't mind me joining you for some inspiration, and possibly a few laughs along the way.

I have followed just about every plan known to mankind since I was 5 years old...all of them achieving varying degrees of success, but none of them life long candidates for me. I have now decided to try moderation in all things...nothing is off limits. I always find myself obsessing over something the minute I can't have it; so I eliminated that flaw in the system. It was working very well prior to the New year; but the walking was a key element, and I can't walk at the moment...
In the past couple of days, I have started doing some upper body exercise...just basic exercises plus my pilates circle, and I am starting to feel the difference. I am hoping the next time I jump on mum's scales, I will be down a little. (I don't keep scales in my house, as I'd be on them every 5 minutes.)

I guess I've rambled on quite long enough. I look forward to sharing in everyone's highs and lows...(Hopefully, not so many lows...unless the lows mean a lower number on the scales.)

Weigh in is on Wednesday?...Ok, will see what I can do about that...

    Wishing everyone all the best,

    Serenity

morning everyone.Another sunny day here.I'm not walking today but have some housework to catch up on.My clothes are starting to feel looser and I'm feeling much more positive about things. My friend even said yesterday how much better I'm looking and that I'm now walking tall.Diet wise I could do with some tempting summer recipes.Low GI if anyone can point me in the right direction.I have just spent £90 on an asda home delivery and most of that was fruit and veg.I'm going through loads these days.
Hope you all have a lovely day.be good :)

It sounds as though you're doing all the right things Molly, which certainly includes plenty of exercise, trouble is as always the housework is always there staring us in the face...I'm sure that darned dust has started winking at me!:D I'll wipe the smile of it tomorrow!!

Keep up that good work Molly and well done!
