Hiya all. Hi Suggs, I've had chance to read through your post properly now. Results look good to me, a small overall gain but really good result with the body fat & muscle mass. I can relate to everything you're saying though. What is the plan for the upcoming week food/exercise wise?

BB feel better soon :( Poor you.

Oh Lemon Drop! Sorry to hear about the fall, make sure you do rest up properly, I know you will 'cos you seem a sensible person! Thank you for explaining about Go Ape, we've done stuff like that but not in the UK so I will have to look that up! Take care x

Bails, great post. One of the things that stood out was 25+ years??? This must have started really young with you! I am not surprised you need a break from it all. I'm almost the opposite, never paid much attention to scales/weight and managed to maintain just fine until I got older and picked up some bad eating habits (lethal combination!). So watching my weight as I am doing now is new to me, and still an interesting challenge rather than feeling negative in any way. Anyway, I am really happy about how much freer you feel, freedom is such a wonderful and important feeling to have :D

Vix - difficult one about the tape! My only suggestion is to get (or make your own) a voucher to have the tape transferred and give her that, rather than going through her stuff. I know it won't be as much of a surprise, but only you know how she is likely to react about knowing you've been all through her room :)

Julesgr, I hope things are OK after today?

I have been to Snow+Rock today, definitely the right decision not to cycle as the heavens opened as soon as I got there! Felt pretty smug about that. Didn't buy anything as none of the sale items on the website were in store, and the all the stuff I did like wasn't in my size or didn't fit, usual story.

So went on to Tesco and bought the 17kg dumbell weight set which is now going to be completely useless in the foreseeable future for reasons I'll explain in a minute! So not the best day shopping wise.

I have sports bras arriving from all angles at the moment :rotfl: , got another two to try today. Two have already gone back earlier this week. The one that arrived yesterday is a maybe :)

Am new to this and this is my 1st post. After reading the posts in this thread, have found that am not alone!
Have struggled with my weight since I can imagine and at times have won and at times have lost. However the score seems to be uneven these last few times and after each attempt, seemed to hve put on more weight.
The sense of failure, frustration and dejection is paramount. Another is the way you feel. There is no longer any sense of joy or enjoyment in eating. It is more driven by a sense of avoidance and guilt. The house is full of low-calories and low-fat stuff and it has made little difference.
Part of me is tired and does not want to bother but then one look in the mirror convinces me otherwise.
Guess lot of times our sense of self and esteem are driven by how others perceive us to be and my moods vary based on the scale reading. Low=Good. High=Bad.
Am gonna give it another try and see where I land. More importantly because it is better for my health and well being that i lose weight and I am tired of the way I look with all the extra padding.
Thank you for your candid and honest posts. They are extremely helpful.

Good to see you here Logos and I am sure we will see "less" of you soon :rotfl:, could you try not looking at the scales for a while but working on measurements (ie eat healthily, exercise if you can) and keep trying on a top/trousers/skirt/dress whatever! that is slightly snug and work on getting into it/them?

Feel much better this end of the day thanks missgy so looks like chillin for a bit may have paid off. I don't know if I'd over done it with the swimming, which is immensley frustrating if the case, but I'll have to see how the next few weeks go. Forgot to answer your question yesterday - the oap mafia reduced in numbers yesterday to just 10 - half of whom where doing aqua aerobics to some groovy 'steps like' tunes: felt I'd entered a parallel universe for a bit there. I quietly swam widths in the deep end (the shallow end being taken up with aquafying oldies:D )
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

It looks like I have a hernia just above my stomach. I think I've had this since I was pregnant, but at the time just thought it was something to do with the pregnancy (our bodies obviously change at a lot at that time!) Anyway, as I've got slimmer I've noticed it more and more, and I got it checked out today. It will need a formal diagnosis at hospital but the Doctor was pretty sure that's what it is.

If it is that, I'll need an op to sort it out, hopefully all straightforward and routine enough :) But something tells me this is not the time to start playing around with 17kg of weights :rotfl:

I'll let you folks know when I've had my appointment & confirmed diagnosis. In the meantime please no well wishes etc because I'd rather just forget about it and concentrate on what we normally talk about :D If that's OK :D

I thought it was worth posting though because we never know who might be reading this and realise they need to get something checked out :) Also, I'd have to tell you lot eventually anyway if I'm having an op, because I'll probably be off the exercise for a month and you might notice ;)

Best thing about it was being called "slim and athletic" by the Doctor :D That is the first time I've been called athletic in my life and just about the biggest compliment anyone could ever give me :D :rotfl:

Right, time to try on those sports bras! Wish me luck...
