I was going to say exactly that about your running for example! The fact you thought these things weren't possible once proves that anything is possible... :j

    Hey everyone!!!

Hows things? Youve been chatting loads, its taken me ages to read through. Im enjoying a day off. Its heaven!! I do feel like im nearly ready to tackle my weightloss. The impending july holiday is making me wanna loose a bit (even if its just my legs!!)

Ive been trying to snoop around my mothers room to find theyre wedding tape. (40th wedding anniversary at the end of june, wanna turn there tape into a dvd or something) I know ive seen it in there before but i cant find it!! I feel bad going through it and i dont wanna ask cos that will ruin the srurprise, but then to find it mum will know ive been trying to find it! Any suggestions?

Bails: Fab post. I really admire you for trying something new and finding that it has worked for you. Its put it into perspective for me trying to loose a bit, i think the focus can be too much on the number you want to achieve, rather how good you look and feel. I think one of the most troublesome things with myself is thinking that i am fat, ugly and unattractive on the whole, but whatever i say to myself i still feel the same. Im kinda holding out for the time when im 50 and i can think oh sod it, i dont have to tick any boxes or forfill a certain sterotype. (No doubt that will still be the case though!)

I think im going off on a tangent, but im really happy you have found the right path for yourself that works for you. Good luck for the rest of your life!

    Hi all,

STS for me this week because I didn't go for weigh in as we were in court re the children for most of the day and I was too tired to go.

Ajax - I checked with dunelm and it shouldn't be store specific for the scales they're part of the 50% sale which was due to start the next day so I must have got there very late. It's the dunelm scales not the Hanson ones.

Anyways I have to finish a Birthday cake so will catch you all later, hope you're having a great day.

Vix, if you don't have any legs, how will you get anywhere? ;)

Thanks for your kind words, and your honesty.

I totally get where you're coming from, and how incredibly sad for any of us to ever feel like this (and I know a lot of us have/do). You are young and beautiful with a gorgeous bloke who loves you very much...nuff said x

Jules, how did it go about the kids? Thinking of you.

Wendy, how did the awards themselves go?

Hey Bails. Your post made interesting reading. Thanks:T . To have tackled a weight problem whilst suffering poor health is a major feat for anyone and most people with less determination than you would have failed at the start. I'm pleased that you're finding that this works for you, and must admit on seeing that bikini photo (months ago for newbies) I find it hard to believe that you are classed as obese, s*d what the charts say in your case! This method sounds like one that suits you as a whole and is one that can easily be carried on throughout your life; no doubt as you mobility increases then so will your weight loss by seeing looser clothes ;)no scales! You seem to have found a perfect balance without the hassle :j. I don't think that your method would suit me as I have followed my way for so long now that any restrictions are indelibly part of my life, as is my view of myself! I think if someone had said I looked incredibly sexy when bigger then perhaps I wouldn't have been such a slave to the BMI charts, but I'm happy with it and that's all that counts now.

Anyway thanks again for your candid post, I hope to see more of them as time passes. You 'sound' so relaxed, I'm pleased for you, long may it last!

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Am new to this and this is my 1st post. After reading the posts in this thread, have found that am not alone!
Have struggled with my weight since I can imagine and at times have won and at times have lost. However the score seems to be uneven these last few times and after each attempt, seemed to hve put on more weight.
The sense of failure, frustration and dejection is paramount. Another is the way you feel. There is no longer any sense of joy or enjoyment in eating. It is more driven by a sense of avoidance and guilt. The house is full of low-calories and low-fat stuff and it has made little difference.
Part of me is tired and does not want to bother but then one look in the mirror convinces me otherwise.
Guess lot of times our sense of self and esteem are driven by how others perceive us to be and my moods vary based on the scale reading. Low=Good. High=Bad.
Am gonna give it another try and see where I land. More importantly because it is better for my health and well being that i lose weight and I am tired of the way I look with all the extra padding.
Thank you for your candid and honest posts. They are extremely helpful.

    Hi Logos
I think your post rings true for many people - especially me!
I'm back for yet another go. Why should this time be different to any other time? Well I simply have to believe it will and that this will be the time that I lose the weight for good otherwise what is the point.
Good luck, this thread will be a whole heap of support for you just like it is for hundreds of others.

That's really moving to read bails and utterly great stuff yay.gif.
welcome2.giflogos - how do you normally try to lose weight - perhaps you need a fresh approach with plenty of treats built in so you don't feel deprived and give up. Tell us a bit more about how you plan to do it this time - you're among warm and helpful peeps here.
For lunch had half an aubergine each, smeared with .5tblsp tomato puree, layered with 42g half fat mature cheddar and topped with tomatoes - utterly delicious served with fritata and HM coleslaw. Just bought a huge pile of young asparagus for £1
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
