I've been getting a few of my calories burned estimates from this site lately:
http://www.fitday.com/webfit/burned/calories_burned.html - I like how you can personalise the results with your height, weight, age and gender.
This site suggested that I burnt 256 calories on my 5km not the 440 that the machine said. Oh well!0 -
Missy, I wish you were my mum
Hmm, the thing is you have done so much already that it's hard to come up with new alternatives..what about a camping adventure with activites included (or do I remember you hate camping?
) How about planning a mini adventure race to complete, get some of his mates along to enjoy it too?
Vic, BB is talking sense and you know it. Hunger = bad, it's as simple as that. How would you feel about increasing what you eat by a little each day so you're not hungry, rather than pigging out and then going back into what must be undereating if you feel hungry all the time?
Well done on the swim BB! Still not been able to get there myself but will do over the weekend. Not sure what we're up to this weekend Missy, bit of gardening, maybe a trip to Dyrham Park, see my brother, ride my bike :j, that kind of thing...The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

What's everyone up to this weekend? Half term next week so I'm going to plan an action-packed week for my son (9) and myself, any ideas for really active stuff that can be done on a budget will be most welcome! (Don't mind spending a bit, it doesn't have to be free).
... no idea where in the country you are missy, but if you're anywhere near Worcestershire, have a look below...... I guess something like that would be more novelty value than really active, but different things break up the ennui...
"Look whats coming up at Ombersley.

LOVE camping!!! (Unless it's raining :rotfl: ) Hadn't thought of that, it's now on the list!
Thanks Bails!
Golf is a brill idea too Ajax, I'll check my more local ones for something similarI know there's been quite a push lately to get more juniors into the sport.
I'm checking for a cheapie cross channel hop too, but I know if we do that we'll come home laden with hypermarket goodies
Wendy - I hope you have a wonderful evening tonight. Don't be too strict on yourself, these things don't come along often. Good luck.0 -
Hey everyone,
For those of you who've been on this forum for a while - hello again!
i used to be called katmad but forgot my log in and had to re-register. i used to be a regular when i was at uni but now i've moved to a new flat and don't have the internet
I just thought i'd sneakily jump on here whilst at work (tut tut) as I recently found this website, which is a free UK site where you can log your food and exercise kcals. Really handy!
http://www.foodfocus.co.uk/index.php
Thought it might be useful for all the calorie counters like me
Hope everybody's well. Miss your support lots, have managed to lose nearly a stone since Feb so am quite proud at the mo.

Well done on losing kat, good to see you again.
The Food Focus link is great to be posted again, there are quite a few newbies who won't have seen it. Great stuff, thanks.0 -

Thanks
i'm not officially 'back' as but might pop on now and then after work.
Speaking of exercise kcals - that foodfocus website does calculate mine differently from the gym machines too.
Same with food kcals (eg my pack of malt loaf says 84 per slice, site says 104) but it's not usually a big diff so not that big a deal.
