Lose Weight 20

Bails, a massive thank you for caring enough to write what you did! I have spent a bit of time writing down some answers and thoughts which I won't bore everyone with, but I do need to prove to myself that I can get back to 8 stone as a starting point for the times when I know I am going to gain, and also that I can deal with, say, a 5lb gain in a reasonable timeframe.
The knowledge that I can a) build up a deficit in advance to allow for an expected gain and b) kick any gains into oblivion quickly, are both key to maintaining for me. My maintain weight is anywhere between 8-8.5 stone but if I don't get used to dealing with the gains both before and after they happen, it's only going to go up... and up...
Having said that I have done my best over a 4-week period now, and had a net loss of 3.5lb which isn't too bad. I have therefore decided to give myself a bit of a break this week and then try afresh starting from next week.
Thanks again for what you've said Bails, although I'm sticking to my guns, you have made me realise that I can afford to take the pressure off at least for a little while
Right that's WAY more than enough about me
STARLIGHT!!! Massive congratulations for the 150lb milestone _party_ That is not only a whole me as I've said before, but almost a whole me at my STARTING weight  An incredible achievement. How does it feel to have lost so much weight?
Hmm all this talk of p-ing... think it's time for a wii.0 -

Starlight, it's going so be so good to see the next round of photos in due course:T .
Peeps, I feel chuffed: I've just beenand really enjoyed it. It's a women's only session at a local 25m pool attached to a school. The excellent MSE news is that my GP has given me a GP referal so I get it at half price too:j . I am now determined to aim for twice a week. I have never found swimming affected my weight, but it has to be good for tone and of course excellent for my troublesome joints. It's mainly women in their 60's and 70's when I go and although I haven't been for 2.5 years, they greeted me like a long lost (much younger!!) relative which was really nice, particularly as they are very defensive against newcomers and gang up against anyone too fast and splashy by swimming very slowly 4 abreast chatting:rotfl: .
I've been staying at my parents over the weekend while OH went crewing on a beautiful 100 yr old classic yacht. Definitely had it confirmed that I will NOT be buying a bread maker like my parents have: stiuffed mmyself with gorgeous HM bread and butter. Definitely not compensating for not also crewing on the yacht...much:rotfl: .
Back to day one today and not weighing myself until I've had a few days strictly on SW plan. I don't want to see those nasty beastly numbers on the scales:o .
Beanie - sorry things not so good: big hugs. Lois - really good to hear you upbeat after a difficult time:T .
Ajax - I have a quorn burger (microwave) with a poached egg on top for breakfast sometimes. Yum.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

That sounds nice too.
Glad your yachting and swimming went well Bb.
SW is ace lol. Just had a text from MrsA - sausages, eggs, chips and beans for tea tonight and all free. 2 rounds of Warburtons Organic to mop up me egg with too. Bliss.0 -

Hello Lois! Nice to hear from you again.
Lemon Drop, I have a similar pain and it is associated with a lower back problem and very poor muscle tone at the front. No surprise there then for the non exercising (well not much anyway) granny:o , but I think you must be too young for it to be the same cause.. as Missyg said you should go to the dr.0 -
Oooh BB was wondering where you'd got to! Really glad you had a nice swim! I'd probably fit in well there too - I don't like splashy people
Your cute swimming icon makes me want to go swimming right NOW! Glad you had a good weekend with the 'rents xx
Hey Tagz thanks for the link, yes that's where I got mine last year and where I'm currently attempting to buy "one of everything" that's in my size and in stock (which is not a lot :rotfl: ) Always had very good service from them(Anyone who uses them - don't forget Quidco!)
Done 30 mins wii fit today including an 'island lap' jog with hand weights, will leave it at that for today as I'll hopefully be doing a decent bike ride tomorrow and I'm going to try to tone down the exercise slightly this week.
Have all you wii fitters seen the wii fit thread on this forum?

Wow - you lot can't half chat!...
And the return of the prodigals this week.
welcome back LOISand it's nice to hear a wee something from Petrichor and Brighton Belle too
It's really funny that we're all back posting this week - especially since ajax has gone back to SW. .... I've gone back to WW too!
I really can't go alone and I had been toying with Slimming world and RC online and all other kinds of things, and yes BB I know that I've said it before, hopefully this time I've learned my lesson but I really do need the structure of a class to keep me on the straight and narrow. I absolutely need to lose weight as I've gained all but 3lbs of the weight I'd lost since rejoining WW last August. Here's hoping I'll be able to undo the damage sooner rather than later.
I do have a few plans in mind - I've talked it over with my OH and I'm getting lots of support and encouragement in various ways from him (not least the offer of a vigourous game of scrabble any time!).
I've already bought thisfrom e-bay and watched it. It looks like good fun and specifically designed for curvy girls for the nights when OH is on night shift and I can't get much exercise.
So, anyway. Day 1 again tomorrow. Good luck with the WI's this week folks.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0
