I got in to jexelry making last summer.
I have not done a lot, mainly bracelets!
Simple designs using wire and a crochet hook and adding beeds to them, A few smabala type bracelets for my niece, 'blokey' bracelets made with tent guy ropes! and that kind of thing.
I enjoy making them but there are to many to give away and the quality is not good enough for a craft stall i think.
I live making wine charms but that is pretty simple aswell!

We do indeed have a couple of threads on jewellery making, one of which has lots of tips on, here. So I can merge this thread onto that one to help everybody see examples and links etc etc?

  • When making jewellery do many of you use soldering and if so is it a special silver solder that you use?

Your jewellery is brilliant - can I ask what you what the beads are threaded on to; is it wire or thread?

wallace7 - not sure if this might help you out a bit, The Bead Shop have a free how to leaflet you can download, which tells you what's what with bead jewellery making. It has Beadalon on there which might be what's used?

Disclaimer: I'm a complete novice at this though!! :o

  • If any one wants to get to know more about jewellery making or buy jewellery making tools supplies then just follow some instructions:
    1) equipments for jewellery making must be genuine.
    2) jewellers tools are most extinct ornaments.

    Those are beautiful!

I'm so glad that I found this thread, I am painfully aware of how important an expert's advice is when trying something of the sort. My question is: I want to try jewellery making but not invest heavily - is this kit good enough to give me a taste of it?
