I got my paperwork through today I have told the wife we can have the heating on next year between Jan 15th and Feb 15th ;-)
In all seriousness I am so happy as I thought I had missed the boatIts Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -
We are in the process of switching to the SP 2011 Fixed, but got a strange call today from our current supplier implying that in the small print of the SP contract are clauses which allow SP to raise their Fixed rates by 7% (per quarter/annum I don't know - he did not say) thus making the offer not fixed rate at all!
I have scoured the contract and SP price tariff booklet and can see no mention of this, so either it is very well hidden (if it exists could somebody please tell me where) or my old supplier is telling untruths in an attempt to dissuade us from switching.
Either way I am feeling a bit uncomfortable about this as I am usually pretty careful about such things, and it seems that one or the other companies in indulging in sharp practice. Please advise. Thanks.

If you're an existing customer, the Fixed Until 28th February 2011 deal is STILL AVAILABLE.
Only online, after the login page.

Sorry to duplicate (probably) but I cannot find the clause that says you may opt out of this product if the prices come down. I would like to confirm this before signing up. Could anyone help?

With Scottish Power, you just can basically. You can change tariff once a month IIRC, or leave them for another supplier.
With the tariffs for NEW customers, there is a get-out fee, £30 for elec and £20 for gas I think, on the fixed price tariffs.

When I first called up to go onto the fixed price tariff I asked if there were any penalties if I wanted to either move suppliers or change tariffs before 2011 if the alleged price rises don't happen. I was told that you are on a 28 day rolling contract so if you want to leave or change tariff all you have to do is give them 28 days notice in writing. Same if they want you to leave, they must give 28 days notice in writing.
There is no termination fee if you do the above. If you don't do the above you have to pay a termination fee.
HTH:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I am a current Scottish Power electricity customer, I am trying to switch to the 2011 fixed tariff, I am currently trying to register online in order to switch, but is it just me or is the "your account" section down tonight.0
