I rang today, I am an SP custumer on line, C told me the offer was gone, didnt haggle with him, but told him it was on line still! I went for :money: it!0 -
Can someone please help me my brain must have died or something - gonna cry
.
Im currently with SP on Pricefall until Oct 2008.
My rates are:
Gas:
Primary: 1143 @ 2.750
Secondary: 1.953
Elec:
Primary: 225 @ 11.839
Secondary: 9.268
Fixed Until 2011 rates quoted by SP are:
Gas:
Primary: 1143@3.28
Secondary: 2.483
Elec:
Primary: 225 @ 15.079
Secondary: 10.509
My annual usage is 11446kWh gas and 2055kWh Elec
What would my %age increase be should I opt to fix at these 2011 prices? I can still change online but dunno how long this option will be available to me?
Thanks0 -
weesummy... welcome to MSE... a quick and NOT guaranteed calculation assuming you manage your account online and therefore qualify for those discounts associated with the 2011 fix I reckon there is a 14% increase to fix...
(however see the posts below!!!!)
HTH you to make a decision...0 -

Not sure what the discounts are(do they not apply to both?) but my quick calculation makes it a 23% increase for gas and 20% for electricity.0 -
well changed yesterday about 4pm, my acct said wait 3 days, just loged in, its changed already to price fix 2011 online. Very quick0

I agree if you do not take into consideration the online and dual fuel discounts (assuming they do apply to both products)... 21% increase or thereabouts...
Perhaps I should have given both figures, or just ignored my original assumption...0 -
Thanks for all the replies.
So now its really a question of whether i think i will get a better rate than the SP 2011 come Oct this year to justify around an additional £72 spend until then (20% a month until my current rate expires)
Although my deal still has around 5 months go I think over the long run I'll be better off! Anyone agree...big decision...0 -
You are in the same position as me. I was on Pricefall and have switched to Fixed 2011. The way I look at it, it's summer now so my energy consumption should be less so the increase in price switching to a slightly more expensive tarriff is lessened. The pain with the pricefall tarriff will come in November when it expires. Winter will be on the way and if the forcasted 30%+ price increases have happened in the meantime the available options won't be nearly as attractive.0

Switched!!! Girl on phone said that today was the last day to make the switch as they are bringing out a new tariff with an exit fee for leaving tarriff and a higher charge for changing to fixed rate - at least I think that's what she said!0 -
hmm, how come SP says its not on their system any more, yet some people are still able to switch? Which number did you ring?0
