Scottish Power fixed price to 2011

I've been on the Scottish Power Standard dual fuel rate product for over 5 years i.e pay on receipt of bill. I always knew I was paying more but being lazy never got round to switching. I spend on average £400 per year on Elecy and £600 on Gas (not sure what the usage is)
Two weeks ago I finally decided to use the energy switch website to move to Atlantic Energy. I signed up online but then have not had any emails or letters since, though the process was said to take up to 6 weeks.
Saw the news last night about the possible 40% potential hike in prices and decided to look for a fixed price deal..
Lucky for me the SP deal was still available to me, the only complication was that I had already started a transfer to Atlantic Energy on one of the switch websites... thankfully after a few phone calls the transfer has been canceled..
fingers crossed I made the right choice0 -
Called Mrs Flibble at lunchtime and got the account number from her, and how now applied online for the fixed deal.
I *think* I'm doing the right think, it's all a bit of a gamble as everyone says, but I think it's more than likely that the price of energy will indeed rise, and if I can minimise the hit me and the famliy take for heating/powering the home, then I think I've done the best I can do for now!0 -
withabix...yea but they should have told me its not pulled but still available online...I am supposed to hav an online account0

I've been trying for an hour to change to this online and just go the site to work only to be told I can't switch just now as I've just paid a bill and they are recalculating my direct debit which may take up to 2 weeks, by that time this deal will be gone :mad:0

Hi
I managed to change from my Pricefall package to the 2011 package this afternoon at 1.30pm. I take it that you are logging into your web account and looking for the drop down box for 2011? That's how I did it.0 -

Getting the same problem, but i paid on the 6th and it still won't let me change my plan. Oh well fingers crossed it doesn't rise to much.0 -
I've just changed online, according to my maths I'll be paying 20 - 25% more than at the moment (Online Energy Saver 4), but as it's fixed until 2011 hopefully it'll pan out in my favour..?0
