To those who can't initiate a transfer on the SP website cos they are re-calculating the direct debit, try calling their cust services and ask them to cancel the recalc - they seem to be able to do this straight away - they did for me - and then you can log back into your SP account online and transfer your service. Worth a try cos it worked for me.0

I only found this site yesterday and as a 'paper' Scottish Power customer I have been able to change to online this morning with NO problems and click the 2011 option - thanks for the advice everyone:T0

There isn't much point in using a figure of 17.9p/kWh to use as the basis for monitoring your costs.
That is the tier 1(primary) rate and is only used for the first units(kWhs) in a quarter. The tier 2 units will normally be the rate at which the majority of your electricity is charged.0 -
The fixed price 2011 tarriff is still available to current SP customers who manage their account online. I spoke to someone on the phone today that said it is a glitch in their system that it still shows up as an option for current customers even though they can't take orders over the phone.0

I applied for this through Quidco on the 12th May and it immediately tracked at £75. I have heard from SP nothing since. I phoned up today and SP claim they cannot see any application from me. This is very strange, has this happened to anyone before?0

I applied through Quidco on the 4th of May (tracked).
Finally got an email from SP on the 23rd of May saying that they had recieved the application and were processing it. I called as I was concerned that all the news about the increase in costs had hit a few days after we signed up and they said all was fine, fixed price tarriff.
Then on the 30th of May, got some paperwork through which didn't seem to reflect the fixed price tarriff. I called and after being told that no, I was on Online Energy and demanding to speak to someone else I finally (after about 30 minutes) spoke to a nice guy who said that I was definately on the fixed price tarriff and that he would keep an eye on the application for me, and would send me a letter stating the tarriff we signed up for as I was concerned that we would go past the point of no return with nothing to document the tarriff we signed up for. Needless to say, got no letter.
Had an email through a few days ago asking for meter readings and got that done online and service should start very shortly.
Called today to ask what our monthly direct debit amount would be and was told we would get that info with our welcome pack...and thought to ask again, and was told that we're showing as on the Online Energy tarriff!
Needless to say, I've lodged a complaint and they will look into it and call me back within 10 working days though the girl did say that they were getting to people in 2 - 3 days at the moment.
Trying to keep my temper in check...will see what they say when they do call.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
