Don't worry PP. You won't feel a thing (except in your wallet!!). But on a serious note, so many people do not understand that this might happen.
What concerns me are the people who will suffer are the lower paid people andthose on benefits who use Ebay to sell stuff, such as baby equipment, to upgarde and buy for the next age group. This worries me and is why I emailed Watchdog. If they mail me back I will let you know.0 -

its funny,i often tell people when i collect items(i use the powersellers search) about not using paypal
most seem unconvinced or for some reason its none of my business going by the responses i get so i think most will still do it until they get stung0 -
Has anyone seen this from yesterday on eBay's Payments & Postage Board:
Quote of opening post:
"This response came from PayPal to a question made by a eBay seller. The original question appeared on the Q&A boards, but due to the ongoing problems between eBay & PayPal over the enforcement of PayPal usegae I thought you may like to see it:.

Thank you for contacting PayPal in relation to our dispute handling policies.
All PayPal buyer disputes for non-receipt of goods are settled on the basis of proof of delivery to the buyer's provided address. In the case of an item being collected the seller is vulnerable to losing this type of buyer
dispute.
We would advise that you do not use PayPal to take payments for items that are being collected.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Sincerely,

Now as we all know eBay have made a decision which has been discussed on here at great length.
Can I ask if eBay will offer compensation in cases of dispute where PayPal refuse.
After all it is eBay who say we must take PayPal and not PayPal who say we must offer it."

Somewhere back in the mists of this thhead I did post that ebay and paypal have been saying different things throughout. I agree that whilst ebay insist we take paypal on collected items and paypal insist we do not we are all doomed. Neithe ebay or paypal have budged from their initial statements.
We're doomed, doomed I tell you :eek:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I dont often frequent these boards but am absolutely livid at eBay currently regarding the enforced use of PayPal, and it is growing from pick up items to whole areas of goods for sale. Computing is now all PayPal - it HAS to be offered as a payment option, as it does in Personal Grooming products but is gets worse. Check this out when I tried listing some software:

So now they can hold your money for 21 days regardless. So if a buyer decides they have not got your item when they have, your money goes!?
I am not sure that this Holding Policy is even legal, have there been any enquiries?
Is it a good time to lead a mass boycott of eBay/PayPal who are one and the same anyway, and force changes to their constant anti-seller policies?:mad:0 -
I'd imagine that eBay have a clause in the T&C's saying your money belongs to them no matter what and that they may give it to you.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0

It is ridiculous though isn't it. If you went to Tesco and they said you can only use a Tesco Credit Card to pay, no cash, no other cards, we would all shop elsewhere. eBay and Paypal think they rule the world these days!!0

I think it's time for everyone to accept that ebay don't want the little man (or woman) selling their old tat anymore.
If you've got some old lump of merchandise you'd like to offload, but is too big for special delivery in a jiffybag (remember only to charge exactly the price of the stamps), either take it to the tip, or advertise it in the local classifieds."Love you Dave Brooker! x"
