I am a bit worried because I see her around the area with big tough looking guys :S. I'm more worried about when I go to sleep though.
I really hope everything goes ok. Watch yourself....that's the utmost priority. Some other sensible MSE posters have joined in (thanks guys) . Please keep us updated.
Don't worry about the court proceedings as I know a little bit about this and will be more than happy to help with the paperwork. The other interested MSErs will doubt chip in to help.
Sleep tight and keep us updated. Loads of people rooting for you.

Thanks terry.
The council got back to me. I have to see a tenancy relations officer tomorrow. She asked me to contact the mobile number I have to inform her I've been in contact with the council. She also said what I already knew .. "she has to provide you with an address and if the deposit isnt protected you can take her to court for the deposit and 3x"0 -
Perhaps OP could print out the information given by terryw in post 43 and when the L/L comes round for the rent give her that instead and say that no more rent will be paid, keep it safe to hand over when necessary, until she has OP's address. The ball is then in the L/L court. L/L can give her address and that is then sorted or she can continue to refuse and can't actually do anything about it, cannot get the rent and cannot issue notice.
As rent is being paid in cash I do hope that you have receipts
I get a written receipt, she normally forgets to bring paper and a pen though :rolleyes:0 -

Great stuff. Things are moving. Don't forget to tell the TRO that failure to provide an address is a criminal matter (they probably know this, as it's their job , but you never know.)
Please let us know what the LL says when you phone her to tell her that you have been to the council. At this stage I would not mention to her about the 3x deposit........keep this up your sleeve for the moment - concentrate on getting the address.
Remember your safety is paramount.
best wishes

P.S Actually, as an aside, I think that not giving you a rent book is an offence as well."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

I've looked into the rent book before, It's only an offence when you pay your rent weekly. The lady I spoke to on the phone did mention her legally having to provide the address.
I've tried calling, but I'm just getting a voicemail-obviously doesnt want to talk to me after yesterdays text.
I'll keep the thread updated with what happens tomorrow0 -
Pretty poinless visit really. I spoke to the woman at reception who kept calling the TRO, the TRO advised me to check the electrol reg and land reg. I told them I'd already done that, then they told me about tds and gave me some leaflets, but I told her I cant do that without an address. She then mentioned me not paying the last months rent, so I said my deposit is more than the rent. Then I told her the landlord legally has to give me the address, and she said "oh ok, ill book you in" gotta see a TRO on tuesday. At the same time, one of the guys listening behind the desk wrote down his number and told me to call him because he knows about tds. I called and he pretty much told me what I already knew, but was nice to have someone at the council back it up. He said to mention his name when talking to the TRO on tuesday, I asked if they'd be able to get the landladys address and he said he's not completely certain, but he's sure they have a means of doing that.
I also got an email back from the police, asking for my address so they can refer it to the local inspector. (I sent an email a few days ago asking if it was a police matter)
Humph.. on a good note, I was accepted for the new place!!! It'll mean being away from the area for court, but I cant wait to get out of here! I was packing my clothes yesterday and most of them were covered in mould

It's all coming together. Keep at it. Rome was not built in a day.

I know, I must learn to have patience.
He also advised me to not pay the last months rent .. hmm
I'll update on tuesday.0 -
I couldnt go to see the TRO because something really important came up, then a couple of days later I moved. I'm not really sure how to start all of this again, especially as I'm not living there anymore.

No problem. Please give an update.........have you received your deposit back? Did you pay the last month's rent? Has the LL been in touch with her address? Apart from anything else, make another appointment with the TRO ......apologise etc but at least the whole thing will be logged there.
