Pictures of why I want to take my landlord to court.

I was just uploading the pics from my camera onto my computer and thought I'd share a few here (as I'll probably be updating here for a while) just so you can see how bad its been. You might wonder how I could have been so stupid to move in here? Well I was desperate and LL promised to have all of this finished within a month, never falling for that again.

This is why I've moved my bed into the living room. I've cleaned and bleached it loads, but thought I'd leave it for a while seeing as I'm moving out. I've been getting ill loads since living here.

This is the kitchen window, no wonder its freezing in here:

These pics are older, about 4 weeks ago they put carpet in the halls (not my flat) filled in the holes in the floor, covered the hole in the front door and moved most of the rubbish out the front, but only because they're trying to rent out the other two flats in the building.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

ring environmental health and get them to come round asap, can find the number on your local government website i think

looks like there is a serious damp problem and the house is definately not in a fit state to live in

you need pictures with dates on, print them off and send them back to yourself recorded delivery

dont bother phoning your landlord now do everything through letters recorded delivery post then if you do take him to court you have all your evidence dated etc and will help you alot

even if you take the pics with something like todays newspaper in it, then you can prove its like that after you started paying rent

just because im paranoid about posting pictures on the internet, wanted to wipe out anything anbody would recognise, like cars outside or houses.

Maybe a tiny bit less than you would normally pay for a one bedroom flat, but still far too much for what I'm getting. Happy to be moving into a nice, clean house soon!

it may be worth getting environmental health round anyway just so you have their opinion on how bad the place is, so if you do pursue this you have evidence from them
  • yeah thats true, thanks.

Even though you will have moved out by the time anything is done about it, it will hopefully prevent the landlord renting it out in that state to some other poor unsuspecting tenant.

You could also have a claim against the landlord for disrepair, suffering and nuisance and a report from an EHO would be very useful in court.
